She felt his knuckle slide against hers. Then his hand was in her hand, his palm pressed against her own. A temor moved through him. Slowly, he let their fingers entwine.

"Wylan gave me a good price. His father's fleet is full of worthy ships but that one... it suited you." He looked down at his boots. "This berth belongs to you too. It will always be there when—if you want to come back."

Inej adjusted the lens and scanned along the docks. There, I'm the very berth from which they'd set out for the Ice Court, was a tidy little warship. She was sleep and perfectly proportioned, cannons out, a flag bearing the three Kerch fishes flying stiffly from the mainmast. On her side, spelled out in graceful white script, were the words The Wraith.

Inej's heart stuttered. It couldn't be. "That's not—"

Kas tilted his head, watching a full atv above them, wings spread wide. "Tell Jesper he's missed. Around the Slat."

Inej raised a brow. "Around the Slat." From Kaz that was as good as a bouquet of flowers and a heartfelt hug—and it would mean the world to Jesper.

"Ketterdam is made of monsters. I just happen to have the longest teeth."

99% of my motivation to read this book was kanej and my god did they not disappoint. bye bye inej ghafa, you are my biggest idol. i love you so much. 

my favourite character, aside from kanej ofc, was nina. she was so likeable? her and Matthias were my og ship and i am utterly devastated. 

“matthias was dreaming again. dreaming of her.” my breaking point.

P.s. I was listening to it at work and I started crying and my boss asked me why I was crying so I had to launch into a very embarrassing explanation.

A lot of people are expected to pay, and you better believe the whole crew came through to accomplish that.

Nothing compares to the satisfaction of Kaz and his criminals pulling off one of their schemes… other than of course the scheme going horribly wrong and following along as they miraculously manage to pull it off anyway and reading it thinking HOW did they do that to have it answered and go Kaz’s brain is like nothing I have seen before, and this is full credit to Leigh Bardugo.

I promise you; I've never read a better example for diversity and representation. This series features characters of multiple cultures, faiths, and sexualities, suffering from mental or physical illness. And it all comes so naturally and feels so real.

Dirtyhands would not. The boy who could get them through this, get their money, keep them alive, would do her the courtesy of putting her out of her misery, then cut his losses and move on.

I loved this book so much. It took me so long to finish it because I didn't want it to end. The characters are amazing, as expected. Everything was so well-written. Their relationship/friendship with each other is just so nice to read. I wasn't bored at all because there were things actually happening; it kept you on your toes. The ending was so bittersweet, and I want more of the crows. Moreover, I did not expect to cry over a fantasy novel. The fact that I knew what was about to happen because I saw a spoiler, but still cried shows how attached I am with them. My only issue is the long chapters, and that's it. I loved it so much, I'm in pain, I need more!

Took me some time to finished this book because college and stuff but oh boy this has got to be one of the best YA fiction lit i've ever read. The story & the characters here are so well written

Throughout reading this i was so engrossed with the journey, the emotions and the friendship these characters ventured together. They are entertwined with one another and i found myself sobbing in the corner :')))

This duology is so well written. I would reread it in the future. The characters are unique and their problems relate to the heists that appear. New problems were popping up almost every chapter. It was so exciting to see how the Crows got through this until the end. The last 1/4ths of the book had me in tears. The situation that happened (no spoilers) connected so well with who they are. The chapter following broke me. Then the chapter after that hurt even more. The ending was amazing.

I decided to reread the Six of Crows duology because season 2 of the show came out two weeks ago. It immediately made me obsessed with the Grishaverse again, and especially with the Crows. I have always loved them the most and rereading these two books has just proven this once again. The worldbuilding itself is absolutely brilliant, but this duology is like nothing I've ever read. The storyline, the ingenuity, the characters, the perspective changing, I love it all so incredibly much. I think I like the Six of Crows storyline better, but I love the character developments in this book. Leigh Bardugo truly is a mastermind and even though I have read the books before, I was blown away by some of the plot twists. The Crows truly have a special place in my heart and I would do anything for a Six of Crows spin-off. As I said, I love these books with my whole heart and I recommend everyone read them. They're my favorite fantasy books and they might even be my favorite books ever.

I almost think I enjoyed this more the second time around which I didn't even think was POSSIBLE?! The craftsmanship of this book is just INSANE. I can't imagine how much thought and planning went into this and everything was just done so incredibly well and I CRIED LIKE THE WHOLE TIME?! I don't know if I'm just in an emotional state right now but everything affected me so intensely and heavily. I love these characters more than words can even say. WHAT A BOOK.

What can I say? What can be said other than the fact that this duology is just INCREDIBLE? ABSOLUTE PERFECTION?!
God, I love these characters. I love each and every one of them so much it hurts. These two books are definitely two new favorites. I'm just obsessed. This book ripped my heart out in both wonderful ways and such awful ways. This story was crafted so beautifully and cleverly it's INSANE. I don't know how she did it. I mean, she's a freaking genius.
I'm both so stoked and so sad it's over. But hey, at least I have the Nickolai story to look forward to! And I just received The Language of the Thorns which I'll be diving into next! So pleased I've finally joined this fandom!
