I read a bunch of the Hornblower novels back in high school, and quite liked them. I was always a bit afraid to revisit them in case the Suck Fairy had been at them. 

Happy to report no Suck Fairy here. I quite liked this. Now looking forward to re-reading the rest. The on to another course through Patrick O'Brian.
