Prince Caspian: The Return to Narnia follows the Pevensie children's second trip to Narnia. They are drawn back by the power of Susan's horn, blown by Prince Caspian. The Prince has fled into the woods to escape his uncle, Miraz, who has usurped the throne. Narnia, as the children knew it, is no more. the subtle but deeply sublime world building in narnia always gets me. no, we'll never know why everyone in narnia eats like they're 1930s england, but it's very important that we know that this is a different planet in a different universe. 

Then, with a thrill of memory, she saw again, after all those years, the bright Narnian stars. She had once known them better than the stars of our own world, because as a Queen in Narnia she had gone to bed much later than as a child in England.

Just as in The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe–Prince Caspian has its place as a wonderful story to read as you’re growing up. But at this age, it’s just a bit elementary. They’ve been fun, lighthearted reads as we’re winding down for bed, but we’ll probably take a pause and leave Aslan and crew for awhile now.
