For her debut novel, Damilare Kuku made us laugh, shocked and included a lot of reality. Most books I have read that has Lagos in it is either in the 90s or didn't capture the essence of the state. And despite all the laughs and figure-it-out-yourself endings, she managed to capture Lagos of the now. All the slangs and the hectic living. 

On to the stories, I felt connected to some of the stories as an average living Lagosian and she gave me a new look to the "big" madams and ogas of Lagos and what type of lives they might be living. The stories were diverse and truly captured the mad men and women who thrive to live and love in Lagos. 

Damilare Kuku's Nearly all men in Lagos are Mad is anthology of short stories of finding and losing love and relationships in one of the busiest cities in the world. Expect to laugh, feel and have your mouth hanging open.
