The Da Vinci Code

At the beginning I really liked the plot how it was developing and that kept me reading non-stop, at the second half of the book the enigmas and how the characters were solving the problems begun a little monotonous and by the end of the book I didn't liked the denouement. It was ok, but meh.

Harvard professor Robert Langdon receives an urgent late-night phone call while on business in Paris: the elderly curator of the Louvre has been brutally murdered inside the museum. Alongside the body, police have found a series of baffling codes. As Langdon and a gifted French cryptologist, Sophie Neveu, begin to sort through the bizarre riddles, they are stunned to find a trail that leads to the works of Leonardo Da Vinci - and suggests the answer to a mystery that stretches deep into the vaults of history.

Unless Langdon and Neveu can decipher the labyrinthine code and quickly assemble the pieces of the puzzle, a stunning historical truth will be lost forever...

A Novel

Jennifer

I’m not religious so the breakthroughs didn’t amaze me like others. I thought they were interesting but not astonishing. I learned some cool biblical and historical stories. Disappointing and unfulfilling ending. The movie was terrible.

10/10 book, always giving three more cliffhangers before relieving the first. Jina and my step mum both told me this was a great book years ago and I only just read it now but was worth the wait

(Robert Langdon Book 2)

The book equivalent of a cold, sugary soft drink. It can be refreshing sometimes.

I fear me and my mom are now going to read the whole series. Why do they always use Robert Langdons government name. Learned hella about religion and art and the grail

The DaVinci Code

It took me so long to read that the reveal of the true mastermind was quite a surprise to me, but otherwise I found this a rather boring and simultaneously thrilling book. Quite the oxymoron.

There are very few surprises in the Da Vinci Code to anyone who has read enough thrillers and knows a bit of art history and yet it is a thoroughly enjoyable, albeit, equally silly book. If only Langdon would learn to sit down, shut up and have a good think, he could have saved himself a lot of time and energy. Each and every clue has an easy answer and a complicated one. Most of the book's weight comes from always having to do things the hard way.

To future readers, pay attention to what Landgon babbles about and how scenes are described and you too can solve the mystery in about 150 pages and then wait another 450 for the main characters to play catch up with you. :)

this book chose a controversial topic as the central theme, so it was an exciting read. each page has enough suspense that helped me to finish the book. how dan brown depicted the female characters was what stopped me to rate this book higher, since it was quite contradictory with the message he tried to convey.
