gosh I love this book, literally one of the best ones I have ever read. I relate so much ot Lyra on the psychological note. It was easy written, the smut was good, it was beautifully dark but bro the ending fucking broke me.

Well… shit lmao. That was a fucking wild ride. This author somehow made me root for a serial killer to get his happy ending. I might update this with more later but, wow lol.

Dana Isaly did not come to play! I read this book in one sitting, and my mind is still reeling over what I read. Him is a serial killer with a demon inside him who always targets women. When Lyra comes into his sights, he cannot help but be intrigued by her, and he immediately sets out to talk to her in the hopes of killing her later on. What Him doesn't expect is Lyra. She is someone who's diagnosed with having an obsessive personality. She doesn't want love in her life, she wants obsession. She wants someone who will be obsessed with her as she is with them. "I want someone that will smother me and make it impossible to breathe unless I'm breathing their air." This book... It will make you question everything. Him and Lyra's relationship is unconventional, complex, and dark. I loved having a dual POV for this book, because it really went into explaining the thought process for each character. One thing I appreciated was that we get flashbacks on Lyra's visits to a psychologist. Because of this, we're able to understand her acceptance of Him and how she doesn't shy away from anything Him does. On the contrary, she embraces Him in a way he didn't even expect. What surprised me was the demon that Him has and his desires for Lyra. That chapter (iykyk) had me with my eyes wide and mouth wide open. Even now, my heart is racing just thinking about it! It was dark, but holy shit, it was hot and steamy, and you will need some holy water, just saying. "This isn't about her pleasure. This is about her pain. And we want to pull it from her like a splinter. By the time we are done, she will be broken and perfect." Into the Dark really pushes the limits. but the way it's done, you will actually end up loving these characters and wanting to protect them from everything. *It's important to verify the trigger warnings before reading this book.

Redacting my review. Do not read this book.

The fact that the author made a profit off of someone's child s3xua! ^bus3 to write this story... I'm disgusted. She also stole ideas and stories from other creators (plagiarized), and there's enough proof to show exactly what she did. I cannot support her anymore

Reviewing this book feels somewhat hard. This book is: You meet Romeo and Juliet. I don't have any triggers that are off limits personally, so I decided to read it blind. The only thing I knew was that it was not a HEA. This book is dark and deep; at point, I was a little nauseous, and another time, I cried. It was a wild roller coaster. Romance is not always good and healthy or happy, and the author did an amazing job of giving us an example of this. The SA backstories of the two main characters were one of the hardest things that I've ever had to read. I almost put it down. The ending brought tears to my eyes. We all have trauma to some extent, and we all want to feel loved. I literally do not know what to possibly read after this.

Am I a fool for wanting to write a proper review for this one? Jesus Christ, this one was, I think, the darkest romance I have read. In all aspects. In the ending of the book, the author said she put a bit of her own SA into Lyra character and that just broke my heart. The plot was actually nice (???). I think it had a point. Love ≠ obsession I genuinely want to say so much more but I just can’t put into words how I feel about the horrific, graphic trauma and toxicity present in this book. Don’t get me wrong, it was dark but it had a throughout conclusion to everything. Also I found it nice to have some male SA representation! SA does not discriminate against gender, ethnicity or age and I wish I could take all of the pain away from every survivor.

It Could Have Been So Much More 2.5/5 I'm disappointed in Dana Isaly. I expected a lot better from her. I don't mind romantic tragedies, when they're done well, but this one did not have a satisfying plot. I know, it's a novella, but Isaly had ample opportunity to make it more meaningful and heartfelt. Some passages felt out of place, while others were too short for my liking. It's not bad, it's just not up to par with Isaly's other works.

I probably shouldn’t of enjoyed this as much a I did but oh well. I would definitely recommend checking trigger warnings before reading this but I absolutely loved it. Would definitely recommend if you live spicy romance with loads of kinks.

⛔️This book is extremely dark, pls check the TWs⛔️ Yikessss never in my life did I think I’d be reading a book where I felt emotions other than hatred for the serial killer LI and his gf yet here we are! This book is excellently written and the story is captivating but it definitely isn’t for the faint of heart. Dana’s writing drags you in and kept me engaged throughout; I couldn’t stop reading because i desperately wanted to know what happened next. The ending was totally unexpected and whilst this book is advertised as having no HAE (which is true), idk, there was something quite fulfilling about the ending for me. The spice was good, although some parts got a lil dark for me but that’s just my personal preference! Overall, a fun yet twisted read and I’m excited to see what the author releases next.

***6 Stars*** READ THE TRIGGER/s WARNING!!!!!!! I am fucking broken 💔💔 I don’t know what I expected when I went into this book, but it was not to be left feeling like my heart was ripped from my chest. I have never highlighted a book so damn much in my life. It was like this author was inside my own head calling out my exact feelings. I am so overly obsessed with Lyra and Him. Their story has made its mark on my heart and will forever be remembered. Definitely my top read of the year!!!!!!
