The ending was fab and really worth it but I didn’t find the story as compelling as the first book! Just a me problem though, I’m not really drawn to historical fiction! The actual writing is a dream!

I was super excited to read this, so I was super pumped when I got my hands on this ARC. I thought the first book was pretty solid, but this one was SO much fun. I love Hazel and her strong “I don’t need a man” energy. Immortality makes it clear from the start that Hazel’s career is important to her. But not for money, but because she wants to help people. I really wanted Immortality to leave romance in the dust, showcasing that Hazel didn’t need to get married and have children to be a whole woman. I mean, come on! She complains about being a wife for like, half the book. For that reason, I can’t give it five stars. That aside, Princess Charlotte was a great character and the new setting was super fun. The companions of the death were also super interesting. Honestly, I would read a whole book of Hazel doing science and surgery and generally being a bad bitch. Always love me a strong female character, and she’s one of the best. Thanks to St. Martin’s Press, Wednesday Books, and Netgalley for this ARC!

Iconic, Showstopping, don't like how rude Jack was to the absolute icon Hazel at the beginning. Still upset about the fact that she couldn't return to her maid to help her deliver her baby. Definitely a wild ride, love what they did with Charlotte and just the general lesbianism.

Dana Schwartz would have to pay me to convince me this book was actually planned. For the majority of it nothing happened, then it had to switch to a different character's P.O.V. because she could not think of a better way to relay his story, and it overall amounted to one big nothing. Could have literally been combined with the first book.

I really really loved Anatomy, and this is such a great series! I recommend, it’s so enticing and wonderful with so many twists and turns. Romantic and fun, different and emotional, the heartbreak I felt whilst reading was REAL!!! (P.s I’m kinda sad she didn’t end up with the other guy ;) , BECAUSE he was so cute and they would have been perfect together, however it does make sense that she falls for the guy that can spend a “lifetime” with her lol)

There is something rather southing about reading a Duology back-to-back and being engrossed into the Story So much that you don’t want it to end, and Immorality is just like that, following on from the events of Anatomy we are thrown right back into the World that Schwarts has created and What a World it is!

Hazel Sinnett: living at family’s mansion Hawthorden with her cook who is expecting and cook’s husband, abandoned by her family, becoming a disgrace after acting like a man to become an anatomist at academy and studying medicine. She suffers from grief, missing her love of her life Jack who has been unfairly charged to death sentence and hanged after she gave him the tincture which may have helped him to become immortal. But he still didn’t reach out to her. Is he dead or alive? Dr. Beecham who put the blame on Jack fled the country, might be still alive and hide in somewhere.

After being wrongly accused of murder and betrayed by one of her patients, Hazel finds herself in prison cell to wait for her death sentence. But to Hazels surprise when she expects to get hanged, she’s put into carriage heading to England where she will be practitioner to heal Princess Charlotte who has been suffering from Roman fever. Hazel is thrown into a word that is complex than ever before and she must make important and difficult decisions for not only her own life but her loved ones around her.

This is book that you get lost into the world that has been created and you are not wanting it to end but also wanting to see what is going to happen; there are lots of twists and turns throughout this book some you may come to guess and some that you may not but such a great read.

“… every time I look at you, it feels like the rip in my heart is getting bigger. GIVE ME UP, Hazel. Turn me into a good memory. It’s what I did with you a long time ago.” -Jack

So heartbreaking

“She missed him so much she could feel it in her bones, a longing like hunger through every part of her. She missed the way his arms felt around her, the way he smelled, the way the scruff on his cheeks brushed her skin when he kissed her forehead and she just wanted to pull him close, close, closer forever.”
