A fantastically interesting story with a an abrupt and, for me, disappointing ending.

memoir fiction told over nine stories about the course of a woman’s life but also how America’s ‘end of history’ has been less of a peacetime and more a series of small apocalypses - with all the terrible things we do to one another happening somewhere in-between. not my favourite of Clowes’s output but definitely his most assured so far.
