This year has started off with great books! Wicked Savage Wolves has the perfect amount of sass, sexy, and emotional ties. The story follows Isa, a teenage girl that has recently lost her mom in a tragic accident and is sent to live with her basically “estranged” father… who is really never present. Isa moves to a new town and a new school.. only to meet a whole bunch of kids like her… supernaturals. 

I enjoyed the reminiscing feel of high school.. this was a mix of twilight and teen wolf (sigh teen wolf.. love that tv series). The story is well paced, I enjoyed the unraveling and the descriptions in the book. 

Isa is a fighter/ surviver. Poor girl feeling like a misfit and all that she’s been thru, I was impressed with her character development throughout the book. Her dynamic with Alpha male Rafael was pretty great from the moment they saw each other. There were things I loved about Rafael and I had to get used to his “dominant behavior”.. but this didn’t stop me from wanting to learn more and enjoy the series. 

I love the side characters! I’m a sucker for supportive friends and these were just that. The way the story flows and ties up lose ends in the first book is satisfying. The spice in the book had me shook, Daniela Romero writes some spicy scenes 😏… if you’re into the whole alpha male, protector type with a strong female lead.. this book is perfect for you. 

I’m happy I gave this series a shot! Brought me back to when I started reading pnr so many years ago. Looking forward to reading more by this author!

Man I devoured each and every single page of this three book series. Daniela had me hooked. And then she left me hanging in the worst cliffhanger ever. I need the next book now! I can’t even tell you a fav because all three of these alpha wolves are so so good. And so hot. And the spice scenes in this trilogy. Off the charts. Trust me. You want to read this series. 

Say hello to the latest addition to my Favorite Series list! WICKED SAVAGE WOLVES is a compilation of the first three books in the Hellbound Heart paranormal romance series by Daniela Romero. These books were originally published as contemporaries, so if that’s your preference, check out Wicked Devil. The plots are slightly changed to accommodate the different genres, but the romances are more or less the same. Disclaimer: the protagonists are in high school, and the content of these books is quite explicit, so whether you choose the paranormal or the contemporary version (or both), keep that in mind going in. I personally did not have an issue with it, but it’s worth mentioning in case it’s different for you.

In Wicked Savage Wolves, each book follows the romantic developments of one of the three members of Hellbound High’s wolf shifter bad boys: Rafael, Jordy and Desmond. While each book can be read as standalones, I highly recommend a good binge. The romances are definitely the prominent aspect of each book, but I was extremely happy with how solid the paranormal frame was and the important role the world-building had in the characters’ narratives. If you also have a history of obsessing with high school dramas such as Twilight and The Vampire Diaries, you’ll feel right at home! The main concept is that Hellbound High is an experimental project meant to bring the supernatural factions together. We have shifters (not just wolves, which I adored!), vampires, witches, druids—the list goes on! However, despite the best intentions, the rivalries between factions run thick, which brought an extra level of difficulty to the table that only added to the addicting drama that seems to come with great high school settings.

The romance, however, is what kept me glued to the pages, helped by the fact that I quickly grew to love the characters. Each had an element one can easily relate to. They’re flawed, but many of their struggles are those of any person their age, and it made them feel all the more real despite the supernatural element. The romances touched many of my favorite tropes: enemies to lovers, protective alphas, “nobody touches her but me”, instant attraction, slow burn, falling in love with the sibling’s best friend…I’m sure I’m missing some, but there will definitely be something you like in all of these stories. Picking a favorite is hard, but I think it might be the third book, which centers around Desmond and Meiying. They are the couple that gets teased most throughout all the books, and when we finally get a taste... let’s just say that I have a mighty need for the next book in the series, and the wait is already excruciating!

I binged this so fast for two nights in a row! 😩❤️ This series is SO ADDICTIVE!

Book 1 of the Wicked Savage Wolves is a NA wolf-shifter romance series with enemies to lovers full of angst that develops into a protective romance that reminded me of Twilight. All of this with some spice and lots of chemistry! If you like the "Who did this to you?" and "he hates everyone but her" tropes combined with a super protective alpha male I cannot recommend this series enough!

Rafael has become my ultimate book boyfriend of the moment, I just can't get him off my mind! Think of a powerful and popular alpha male that has everyone on the palm of his hands. He bullies, hurts and control people at his will. Then we have Isa, the new girl who tries to keep to herself and avoid drama until graduation. Isa challenges Rafael's dominance head on, she doesn't bend to his will. That is one of my favorite elements of this story, that we don't have a weak female-lead, but an equally strong wolf-shifter that wants to fight her own battles.

The romance was addictive, possessive, protective and hot! I ended up picturing in my mind the characters in college instead of high-school. Rafael's gang, Jordy and Des, were my absolute favorite side characters! They were all protective of Isa and I'm so excited that the next books of the series focuses on each of them. Overall an incredible page turner, I need to read everything ever written by Daniela Romero.
