Not gonna lie, I was not sure I would like this. Especially since it’s the third book and I hadn’t read the first two. But I was pleasantly surprised and the smut was 🤌. Strangers get married in Vegas and divorced 12 hours later. End up best friends in love and neither knows the other has feelings. She’s a comic book writer turned movie, and he runs a comic book store.

Sigh I really wanted to love this book... I thought that I was going to love it too well mainly because of how Oliver was portray in the other books. He seem very nerdy, cute, and interesting. I love a good story with a nerdy character. So after reading Sweet filthy boy and getting little glimpses of his personality I was looking forward to reading this one. Oliver was dreamy and almost very straight forward with this feeling which I love. Then you may ask why the shitty review well because of Lola....her character started witty and a pretty cool chic but she got so whinny... Omg I found myself rolling my eyes every time she will complain about being stress over work. Bohoo cry me a river, girl... I mean I get people coupe differently but she was just infuriating. I Love Christina Lauren so much and all her other books but this one was my least favorite from this series so far. Hoping that the next one redeems this one for me.

This was a sweet love story, both characters are flawed but they seem to understand and really complement each other.

Maybe it's because I'm in a weird mood, but they are... too intense. At first everything seemed so cute, the fact that they understand each other so much was beautiful... but everything after de Junebug incident was just too much for me.

           Sadly, this is definitely my least favorite of the series. Lola and Oliver’s relationship felt rushed and pressured. It kind of felt like they wanted to be together simply bc their friends were married. Also I feel like the whole break thing was completely pointless and stupid. There was no reason for it. It was literally just added conflict that wasn’t needed.

I love a good friends to lovers romance, and this one has been in the building for all three books of this series. Lola and Oliver eloped just like the other two couples, but never consummated the marriage, just spent the night talking, becoming friends, and getting the marriage annulled (I know, stupid plot device).

Focused on both their passions - his a new comic book shop - and her's, her budding graphic novel authorship - has meant neither have time for relationships and secretly they both have the super hots for the other.

Finally one dark, wild night, Lola and Oliver give in, and they are immediately plunged into an all consuming relationship that threatens Lola's movie deal and second book. 

Super hot, super fun. I love these damn books no matter how dumb the premise. The characters are always well drawn, and they are hard workers.

This decision has allowed them to remain friends and with so many interests in common, their relationship has blossomed. However, both of them have been harboring feelings for one another that go beyond friendship and have decided that it's time to take their relationship to the next level, but Lola's first book is about to be made into a movie, while a deadline for her second book looms. Will she be able balance her career and her feelings for Oliver?

Dark Wild Night tackles the real world problem of trying to have a successful career and a fulfilling love life. Lola quickly discovers the pitfalls of trying to have both, but rather than dealing with the problem, she allows herself to become overwhelmed, making her a less than sympathetic character. Neither Lola nor Oliver are developed well as characters because most of their inner monologues deal with their feelings about each other rather than how they will attack their personal issues, leaving Oliver to appear a little wishy-washy and Lola a bit of a selfish diva. Overall, Dark Wild Night, unfortunately, does not live up to the first two installments of the Wild Seasons series. 3 1/2 stars.

I've been waiting for Lola and Oliver's story since the very beginning of this series. I loved each of their nerdy selves and I was curious as to why they never consummated their Vegas marriage the same way Mia and Ansel and Harlow and Finn did. I needed more of their story. I needed them together and, after reading the (original) blurb, I was really worried I was going to have to watch Oliver with someone else before I got the HEA I wanted for them. But, I also trusted Christina Lauren to give me what I wanted. 

The characters are what makes this book – and the series in general – special. Lola was the kind of kickass, strong female lead I want to read about in all books. She was so relatable. She was driven and passionate about her work, but also terrified of the changes occurring in her life – both personally and professionally. Who hasn't been there? She wanted more with Oliver, but feared he didn't want her. I loved her interactions with Oliver and with the girls, but appreciated her relationship with her father even more. I'm a daddy's girl so I always appreciate a good father/daughter relationship in books. (Or TV or movies... you get my point.) I cheered on Lola with the moves she was making for her career. (While simultaneously wanting to smack a couple side characters.)

Oliver. Oh, Oliver. I don't even know what to say about him. I loved him every bit as much in this book as I expected I would. He absolutely melted my heart. 

Lola and Oliver together? They were everything I wanted. The way they flirted and danced around the fine line between friendship and more rang true. It was easily believable. Their chemistry was amazing. I loved their banter and the sidelong glances and all the little moments. (And there were so many cute, geeky ones.) I'm thrilled this book was written in dual POV since it means the reader ALWAYS knows what's going on. I enjoyed being in both Lola and Oliver's heads. Not only did I adore them together, I did separately as well. I was invested in them and I was connected to them. I'm a big fan of friends to lovers stories – and I also understand the risk you take when you make that leap – so it's no wonder I really enjoyed this one. (Even if there was at least one scene that made me want to throw my ARC across the room.) It could probably go without saying that when these two got down to business things were smoking hot, but yeah... *fans self* (Spoiler alert: Oliver has a dirty, dirty mouth and I LOVED it.) 

One of my favorite things about this series, aside from the hot, sexy and sweet romance, is the friendships between the girls and the bromance between the boys. I love this group of friends. I really enjoy how they all fit together and complement each other. Dark Wild Night gave me the friendships that made me smile and chuckle and the romance that made me sweat. It was a fantastic addition to the series and a great conclusion of the original character's stories. That said, I'm still looking forward to London's story and hoping that maybe, just maybe, Not Joe will get a book of his own. (Or, at the very least, a decent chunk of a side story. Because seriously, I really enjoy him.)

I think fans of the Wild Seasons series will enjoy this book as much as the first two. I know I personally have plans to reread it on audiobook very, very soon. And I'll probably continue to reread it and obsess over the characters for years to come.

I didn’t think I could love Christina Lauren more than I already did, but of course, I was wrong. I just want to thank the stars for Christina Lauren, because they gave us the wonder that is LOLIVER! God, how I adored this couple, how I adored OLIVER. Dark Wild Night is absolutely… wonderful. It’s another exceptionally well-written, gorgeously romantic, sexy-as-hell book from an author duo, who, with every release, continues to prove why they are one of my top favorite authors. I loved Lola and Oliver’s story – these two brilliant characters will forever be in my heart!

Lola and Oliver are the only two of their group of six who have remained unmarried after their fiasco in Vegas. They’ve become close friends now, but the thing is… they’ve fallen for each other. The time they spend together, even as friends, is so precious to both of them… I could FEEL the incredible bond Lola and Oliver have. When they finally go for more than being Just Friends, it’s simply the most heart-warming, exhilarating thing ever.

My heart wants to escape, to flap out of my body and into his. And, God. Is this what it means to become infatuated with someone? A heart becomes a hybrid, half yours, half theirs. Mine beats like this because it wants out. My chest aches to let his heart in.

These two are MEANT TO BE with each other – Loliver is absolutely perfect. But it’s not exactly the best timing for Lola, since her comic Razor Fish is coming to the big screen, and she’s stressed to the max. Thankfully, Oliver seems to always be there for her, but can Lola handle her newfound relationship with him while balancing the pressure and stress that comes from her job?

Lola and Oliver are so different from Christina Lauren’s previous characters, but I feel like these two characters are the ones with the most heart, the ones who felt the most REAL to me. Lola is beautifully flawed, a little frustrating, but endlessly endearing and so easy to relate to. I admired this girl so much, and I applaud Christina Lauren for writing such an incredible heroine. Oliver is the quiet, strong, unwavering hero who you can’t help but fall so. hard. for. God, this man is so wonderful – you will definitely find a new book boyfriend in Oliver. His never-ending support for Lola, his complete devotion to her, his raw sensuality, his dirty, filthy mouth – everything about his is just perfect.

Dark Wild Night is, in my opinion, the hottest book of Christina Lauren’s yet. The connection Lola and Oliver have is unlike any other. I loved that they started out friends, that they have such a solid foundation for their relationship. The chemistry between them is explosive, and I just couldn’t get enough of them and their story.

Christina Lauren has such a talent for writing. It’s emotional, funny, meaningful – I loved nearly everything about this book. I did get a little frustrated with Lola during the middle of the book, and this part was a little too slow-paced for my taste. But still, overall, I really, really loved this book.

I can’t end this review without talking about the whole Wild Seasons gang – Mia and Ansel, Harlow and Finn of course all make appearances, which made me so giddy. But the real star of the book was Not-Joe!!! I freaking LOVED this man – he is absolutely hilarious, and his craziness is so endearing. I laughed so much and so hard in this book because of him!

Dark Wild Night is a gorgeous read – from the writing, to the characters, I adored it all. This is a must read for fans of the author – and if you haven’t read Christina Lauren yet, you are missing out on some fantastic romances. I highly recommend this book!
