Gemma was so determined for me to deal with my PTSD, but I thought I was doing pretty well with it. We were friends now. I had my incontinence under control and Chihuahuas rarely frightened me anymore.

This was pretty funny book although it was well balanced with some really serious aspects. There were definitely topics discussed that might cause you to approach the book with caution. Just do some due diligence with this one.

On the lighter side, Charley is hysterical although sometimes a bit repetitive with her jokes or blaming things on her ADHD (in the book ADD although this is no longer used as much). Reyes is amazing. 

Overall, it is a good book and I definitely want to read more from the series.

I have been enjoying this series so far but I found this instalment to be a bit disappointing. It's an enjoyable read but it feels more forced than the other books and there definitely is a problem with character development. Throughout the book Reyes gets more and more out of character and Charley just gets more irrational. There were too many story lines being developed at the same time while the main series plot didn't seem to evolve much.

Still, the book was entertaining enough and I plan to read the next instalment in the series, if only to find out what Darynda Jones has planned for Charley & Reyes.
