           How did no one but one person 3/4's into the book not figure out who she is, like am I missing smth??
sure, you like the same in or very similar BUT YOURE TELLING ME NO ONE WOULD SEE THRU YOU again except for the smart person and you somehow know everything about how your best friend acts and reacts even after 4 yrs after her death?! overall, the main plot was weak and became the main character just wanting to get back together with the love interest but faces internal conflicts other than that I cannot fathom how she doesn't address her "stepfather", cecil's death, maybe I missed it but she doesn't seem to attached to a man that raised her for 4 yrs and took her in after having no one left to go to. wHyy? ALMOST DNFed it.

I loved this concept and how the book progressed! It was well written, there was just something off for me the whole book, but I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a good mystery/deception novel!

I picked this book up on a whim because I was drawn in by the spine and the cover. I’ve never heard anything about it nor known anyone who read it. But I did this as a buddy read with a friend, and by our 3/4 week, we decided to finish the second half all in one set it was that good. 

I liked this book so much more than I thought I would. It wasn’t entirely what I was expecting, and a lot of it was predictable from a mystery/revenge plot standpoint, but I still devoured it. I loved the way that Libby and Frances were written together but separate for almost the entire book. It was a fascinating case of character development. 

If you’re looking for an quick, easy read, with an interestingly written character and a mystery/revenge story then this is a book I would highly recommend!

This book swept me away. 

It's a truly wonderful occasion to find a book that reminds me of what makes fantasy, as a genre, so inherently great. The escapism, the magic, the notion of a world without limits. 

"Daughter of the Deep" combines the nostalgic whimsy of "Peter Pan", the swashbuckling adventure of "Pirates of the Caribbean", and the wit and heart of "The Princess Bride". It really did satisfy a lot of hankerings I didn't even know I had. 

The story is layered without ever feeling contrived. I loved the way that the lore, the love story, the conflict, and the mystery all blended seamlessly together. I adored the characters. The leads are incredibly nuanced, and Keira is one of the most introspective protagonists I've had the pleasure of meeting lately. I loved the supporting characters, from the smug councilman Ellian, to the sweet but spunky Reagan, to the eccentric, world-weary Esme. The mythology of the world left me craving much more by the end. 

There really is a little something for everyone in this novel. I would recommend it to anybody in need of an adventure.

Fun story and characters, but rather predictable when it comes to plot points/ twists. The magic (Kiera's water gift, Griffin's swords?) was rather underdeveloped and became a bit of a deus ex machina in the end. (And if Griffin's sword could detect truth, why didn't they use it to check people's stories.... all the time? Unless that's not what it does? It wasn't clear.)
It all wrapped up pretty well for me in the end, at least enough that I don't feel the need to read the next one.

This book was so good. I really loved the main character and also how complex the mystery was. It explored loss, grief and self discovery in a heartbreaking way and also how far would you go for revenge and what does that turn you into!
