Kings & Queens

Kings & Queens Queers at the Prom

David Boyer2004
A humorous coffee table book that uses the rite of passage of prom to discuss queer and transgender identities. A diverse group of LGBTs talk about their proms and their lives since to create an oral and visual history that shows how being an LBGT teen has and has not changed over the past 75 years. Their stories consist of often hilarious prom photos and personal accounts that range from funny to sobering to heartwarming. Collectively they portray the impact that growing up gay has on one's entire life, so that it will appeal not only to queers, but to their friends and family too.
