Cronenberg’s clammy ice glove of a story about how a script he was supposed to write called THE SENSITIVES unexpectedly morphed into body horror prophesy called THE BROOD when his walls-licking crazy ex wife attempted to kidnap his child lingers with me to this day. The context on the gold rush moment in Canadian history when film subsidies opened the door to rampant pot-boiler film productions was also fascinating. 

Cronenberg is a titan who stands alone.

Recommended. Five stars for the artist, three stars for the book.
