The wisecracking holiday-humbug that is Andy Carpenter is cajoled into taking on the murder case of a former gang member vouched for by Willie, Andy’s Tara Foundation partner. Although I figured out whodunnit, I still enjoyed the unwinding of the story in Andy Carpenter style. We learn early in that the gloomy attorney Hike is moving to North Carolina and meet a new sports-loving attorney who assists in this case. I don’t have a feel for the new guy yet except for making everything a sports metaphor. I will miss Hike’s undying pessimism, but acknowledge that (if he were a real person) he’s better off in NC. Hopefully he’ll ask for Andy and team’s help on a case in the South coming soon.
