This book was a nice gift from a friend with a catchy title and something I resonate with. In general "Innovation" is a pretty BS term. Unfortunately, this book did not feel like it did a good job addressing the title, it felt more like a survey of interesting ventures on the corporate, government, scientific, and startup level from all sorts of places in the world. I did enjoy reading about all the different interesting business models, particularly about my FB friend Kaspar Korjus and E-residency, the AI initiatives of Dubai, the very effective incentive-driven healthcare system in Finland started by a bank, Google X, and the curated library of the oldest bookstore in London. There were lots of interesting points, but the book felt long and difficult to read, hence why it took me almost 4 months to finish. If you have a copy, it will be entertaining to survey a bunch of interesting business models. But I don't think the book does a good job providing any actionable advice for starting any venture or creating innovation or even defining the term innovation.
