it seems that the book already have tone to be detached and passive, and the prose style is minimal which is not working for me at all and i think the author could have gone about it in a better or different way. the protagonist is barely visible, his self emasculated and he doesn't even care. in a way i can relate to this because i myself is a boring protagonist of my own life but this guy absolutely frustrates me, there is nothing to him. maybe i am the protagonist, i try so hard to care about these things and him too but i can't. i have no self awareness or agency.
