Een artistiek geschreven en verrassend kleurrijk verhaal over (on)schuld(gevoel), al had ik wel twee pogingen nodig had om er doorheen te komen. Ik denk dat de originele versie de vertaling toch net overtroeft.

So I picked up this book because it was in so many bookstores and a lot of people told me to read it and that it was such a good book. I also read it because my favourite gerne to read is historical fiction. Maybe that's why I'm not that impressed with this book. It was a good book, but to me it wasn't special. I think I expected too much of it because of the hype about it, so I expected a book that would stay with me forever. I've read books about WWII that I think are so much more interesting. I also don't like books that are told by a narrater, especially when it's not a person but 'death' telling the story. Even though I did enjoy the tellings of the way the sky and clouds looked, I didn't like some of the too detailed weird describings of things or people (lemon yellow hair?). I've finished the book and I actually liked reading it, but I won't re-read it for sure.

JUST READ THE DAMN BOOK is all I can say
