This. Book. Was. So. Good.

Bea and Priest and a very, very close second to Zeus and LouLou for me. I was obsessed with this entire book. I didn't want to put it down and anytime I had to, I was thinking about all of the possibilities that might happen. It consumed all my thoughts.

Thought you’d think these two would make an unlikely pair, and at times they are, but surprisingly they are quite compatible. Though these two are completely different people, one light and the other dark, they also bring out the best in each other. Bea, is a sweet, loving, caring and kind girl. She is strong and fearless and has a heart of gold. And even though she has been told to stay away from monsters, she falls in love with the biggest one. Priest, Priest is such a complex character. He’s challenging, dangerous, feral, and most of all a killer. As the Enforcer of the Fallen MC, he doesn't care who you are or what your story is, if he has a job to do he will do it thoroughly.

The amount of depth, detail, research and time this must have taken Giana is evident. She really knows how to write. Her words are always poetic and scoop you into a nest of detail and description. This book is about growth, darkness, acceptance, love and retribution. It’s a heartbreaking story about two people who will and do go through hell and come out on top showing their love and passion for one another along the way, in their own ways of course. Nothing about Bea and Priest’s story is easy. It’s not filled with rainbows, sunshine and flowers. You trudge through the mud and blood, and it’s completely worth every second. If you have any triggers and even if you don't. I HIGHLY recommend you reading the trigger warning in the beginning of the book, do not ignore it. 

This is definitely on my list of best reads of the year.

Priest and Bea are the very definition of opposites attract. Priest, as the enforcer for the Fallen, is so far the darkest hero we've gotten in this series and Bea is sunshine and rainbows and the picture of innocence, or at least everyone in town thinks so. Priest is very insistent that Bea should stay far away from him, he's got a dark past and a complicated relationship with religion, a bad idea to get involved with the pastor's granddaughter. However when a serial killer begins stalking Bea, Priest knows he is the best person to protect her. 
I loved this book. I think that Priest and Bea made an incredibly interesting couple, the polar opposites of their personalities made the push and pull of their relationship really intriguing to read. You almost feel wrong routing for Priest as a hero as you read about his psychopathic tendencies but his chemistry with Bea was just too good to put down. I also liked that it wasn't just another "I'm an asshole to everyone but you" romance because the characters had so much depth and it took time for Priest to open up to Bea it wasn't automatic. 
I do have to say however, the serial killer/stalker plot running simultaneously/interrupting the MC/drug cartel plot thats been running through the whole series was pushing the limits of my suspension of disbelief. I didn't really mind it too much though as Giana's writing was so well done in this book. The Fallen Men books have been getting longer and Giana's writing only improves with each one. I cannot wait for book 7!

DNF at 19%. This is the second book I've DNFed from this series because of an inappropriate age gap. I simply can't move past the fact that he's known her since she was a child and he's been obsessed with her since she was 17. She's a literal child. This ruined the whole plot for me and just made me incredibly uncomfortable.

I really enjoyed this books, like a whole lot. it’s easily probably my favourite of the series, but then again, i say it every time lol. 10/10 would recommend. Warning tho, not necessarily for those who are squeamish!

I had an issue with the spelling/grammar errors all throughout the book. Often it would be the wrong tense of the word or would be a word *close* enough. I assume it's a case of bad autocorrect, but strange that it was so often.

OTHER THAN THAT, I really really liked Priest. I loved his POV. Bea wasn't my cup of tea. The ending also... was okay.

I knew I loved all the previous stories but Priest and Bea? They’ve won. The plot of Dead Man Walking was so much more darker, grittier, a lot more violent and lunatic. I loved it. I loved the theme surrounding the events of the story, it was intriguing. As usual, Giana has a wonderful way around her words, poetic and beautiful Bea. Also, the spice? 🌶 🌶🌶

Overall, I loved this. So so much. Hearing about the rest of the Fallen Family again, has me happy. Having strong headed, alpha female Lou face down Priest was helluva lot fun too. I’m hoping that one day sooner, we get to hear about Dane’s story. It would be nice to have a POC MC. Also, super excited for Book 7 of the fallen men, IT COULDNT COME ANY SOONER >_<

i'm sad to say this wasn't everything i was hoping for. i really liked the idea of bea and priest together, their connection and their first interactions were actually good and filled with tension, but all of that started to fizzle out as the book progressed. 

what really brought this book down for me was how unnecessarily long it was and giana darling's writing style. just like with inked in lies, i've been struggling a lot with giana's writing lately. and i think it's time for me to just take a break from her books and maybe come back to the series if she ever writes the books about the characters i'm only interested in because i swear getting through these have been extremely taxing for me. i just don't vibe with her writing style anymore, or i must misremember it because i do not recall feeling this way when i first read welcome to the dark side, the first book i read from hers. so is it me or has her writing style been turned completely over the top with the flowery style and the metaphors in her latest books? it's just impossible for me to take characters seriously, and a book seriously, when they keep talking as if they were rehearsing to be in the phantom of the opera play. this story followed a freaking psychopath, you cannot expect me to believe anyone deeming himself a psycho would speak this way out loud. and it wasn't just with the interactions between characters, it was their whole inner monologues that were written that way. it was exhausting, cringy and eye-rolling to say the least. and what was with the repetition of the same word three times in this book? she did that throughout the entire book with words that didn't make any sense why someone would repeat them and in weird places as well, it drove me up the wall every time it happened. i just have no idea what went through her head to think it was a good literary device? wasn't there a single beta reader that could have told her she was overdoing it?

i also don't understand what was the reason for making this book this long. it only served to drag the story with scenes that began to blend with each other due to how repetitive they started to look like and to drawn out a murder mystery that was very obvious from the start. my pet peeve when authors attempt to add a mystery to their romance novels is that they are way too blatant with the clues they leave as to whom the perpetrators might be like. this book was no exception since the whole MO of the killer could have been easily traceable back to that person. and once you figure out the mystery early on what the hell are you supposed to find interesting in this for the almost 300 pages that are left?

i'm also mad because i know if the writing style would have been normal and the characters would have spoken like actual human beings, i would have loved the fuck out of priest and bea's story, but it all became too romanticized and poeticized to the point of sounding ridiculous. the epilogue was cute tho, and it only reminded me of what we could have had had certain stylistic choices not been made. there's a lot of blood play and knife play in this book too which might not be everyone's cup of tea, for me it felt like she, again, overdid it with some of those scenes without any sort of knowledge on what she was writing (i lost count on the amount of times she had priest slash the palms of his hands as if that isn't the worst possible place to choose from smh)

She was everything the Priest didn’t know he needed. She was quite literally everything. It’s like the saying goes “objects in mirror aren’t exactly as they appear.” I thought it was fitting. Beautiful and tragic, I loved these two with my whole heart.

One of the things I love about this series & Giana Darling is how intense and obsessive the relationships are. There’s not gonna be fights over small shit. They’re straight up IN and I love it. 

Bea and Priest are amazing. She may seem like an innocent little sunshine ray but she’s definitely a bit freaky in the best of ways. I love their relationship soo much. I have 700 million highlights in this book. 

I also really liked the non romance plot as well. The serial killer storyline and Bea’s religion, podcast, and college life were all interesting. Another 5 stars for the newest Fallen Men book!

Holy cow! This book is dark, violent and so steamy. It isn't for everyone so if you don't like violent books. 

Dead Man Walking is Priest's story and boy what a story it is! I was so hooked into this one and I didn't want to put it down that I ended up telling my husband to go pick up some take-out because I really didn't want to put it down so that I could make dinner. 

This book is book 6 in The Fallen Men series and it is a stand alone book.

I give this 5 out of 5.
