Once again, I am not a whole hearted supporter of a runner's memoir but this time for a different reason. I did find the contrast between the back of pack runner, John Bingham (Accidental Athlete) and the ultramarathonman, Dean Karnazes. 
I have read two of Karnazes other books and still believe him to be just a little bit insane. Only the smallest part of me would like to attempt a fraction of what he's done and that attempt would be done in a much more logical and incredibly less insane manner.
This is a good collection of stories but these are not the sort of stories that should be imitated. So many times Karnazes pushed himself way past when he should. Most people would break under far less. It's surprising that he hasn't.
