This book started fun and light hearted and turned into so much more. Thank you to the other for not just making this a predictable love story, but for taking my breath away and making my feelings grow with the momentum of the book.

Simon grew from a single horn dog to a beautiful man.

Just wanna start by saying that this book was highkey just too trashy and cliche for me. 

I think I’m the only one in the universe is going to say this, but I don’t like the cover. Yes, the guy is hot and it’s eye catchy. But I’m so sick of books of half-naked men on the cover just to attract readers to read it, I just can’t take it anymore. Now that’s being said, let me start with why this book was not one of my favorites or even in my ‘liked’ list.

Dear Bridget, I Want You by Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland is a sexy romantic comedy about a single mom and her live-in roommate who go from being friends to more.

Simon is a medical resident at the local hospital, an Englishman working in the U.S. as part of his training. Needing a place to stay, his best friend Calliope finds him a suite in the home of another friend, a widow, Bridget, with an eight-year-old son. It just so happens they’ve met before – when Simon was on call the day Bridget had an unfortunate accident involving a fishing hook. And as it turns out, Bridget works as a nurse at the same hospital where Simon is doing his residency. Spending time together, at home and at work, they graduate from flirting to a ‘friends with benefits’ relationship.

And you know the drill, they will fall in love yada yada yada, nothing special in the plot, that’s my first point. Second, I disliked Simon once I meet him in the book. (SPOILERS) the main characters meet at first in the hospital and he was the only doctor who was free to check on her. And first thing he said to her?


   So, I hear you want to show me your bum, and I’m not even going to have to buy you some dinner first? 


Hmm charming but no thank you. (END OF SPOILERS)

The first half of this book was good, but then it became bland. The last 20%…so predictable. I think I prefer the authors Penelope Ward & Vi Keeland when they write by themselves.

Vi Keeland & Penelope Ward have disappointed me with their last couple of books together so I think I’m just going to give up. *sigh*.
