I appreciated the premise of this book, and there were definitely chapters that I enjoyed- namely talking about her interactions with the first couple host families she stayed with, and examing how she was starting to become accustomed to the food and culture while staying there- but something just felt lacking. I'm not sure if it was the writing style or the flow of how events were laid out, but it made it difficult to keep my attention on reading. Overall, I'm glad that I read it, but I can't say that this would be one that I would recommend to others.
