this was an ok as a slice of life type of book not on a romance type of book

I was able to read this for free thanks to Net Galley, although that does not affect my opinion of the actual book. If there’s mentions of refurbishing, redecorating, or rebuilding, I am automatically interested in reading more. This book is about Lucy, a woman who is in need of renovation, as is the hotel that she just began working at. For the most part, I could picture this book as a movie in my head. There were definitely some moments throughout the book where it felt like Lucy forgot that she was in fact forty nine, as she acted a bit high schoolish. Ultimately, I just didn’t really connect well with the story like I was hoping I would.

Dee Ernst makes this book relatable and heart warming. It makes you cheer for Lucy. I love how well written then characters are and how Lucy is in her 40s.
This book is set in Paris where Lucy has gone to run a big hotel. She is running from past and herself. She has been let down, thrown under the bus and kicked by her boyfriend (figuratively) people have judged her for her career and her past. Lucy just wants a clean start to rebuild herself.
Hotel Paradis is looking for the same thing. A new start only difference is the people love this hotel and all it stands for. Can Lucy bring it back to life while healing herself and maybe find love?
