Demon Road
Reviews

I was exited to read this book because derek landy is clearly my favorite author. I love his kind of writing, the bloody things, his (dark) humor, his characters and ideas. The beginning was really cool, but shortly after Amber found Glen, the plot kind of lost the point in my view and got it back when the vampires came. I mean ... She is haunted and to be killed and eaten (!) by her own parents. She just discovered that she is a demon. She has a countdown on her arm which will end her life once it got to zero. But sometimes it seems like Amber is under no way of pressure or even afraid. She shows no really emotion. Btw I LOVE Milo and the charger. They are just so frikkin' awesome. (and milo and amber remind me in a strong way of a skeleton and a dark-haired girl <3 ) First I thougt of Glen as an annoying character, but after some times, he became dear heart. EMOTIONS on the last sceen in the book with him. I think I'll start 'desolation' pretty soon.

Go, go, Demon Squad! This is basically a crossover between Skulduggery Pleasant (similar character dynamics, banter, and humor) and Supernatural (setting). This time round Derek delved even further into exploring #greymorality (compared to SP). Big plus: The fight scenes are as gorey as in the last few SP books (we hear bones break, body parts are removed, and there are copious amounts of blood).

I remember being a bit uncertain about this book after the first read. Now it's a solid 4 stars, if not 4.5. Love Landy's writing, the sassy characters, yeah, there are annoying ones, too, but they all fit together in the story. The plot is good, the ending was unexpected. Going to continue with the series and enjoy it.

3.8 stars for this one and an E for this one. I thought I'd give it a four, but that's too much for this book. The book dragged on for 500 pages when it absolutely didn't need to. I felt like adventures and places were being added to fill in the book. Sort of like when I ramble and all nonsense to meet my paper's word count. But it was enjoyable, even though it seemed like every monster had horns, no matter what type. Got kinda routine after a bit. Fairly long one, and I didn't feel too much for Amber. Milo's my favourite in the book. He's cool. Glen was a blast. Full review to follow (maybe).

in one summary i read the story is a mix of stephen king books and the tv show supernatural. i don'read kings books ut i'm a supernatural fan since episode 1. i read skullduggery and i thought back than "what a great mind does this man have!" well, like me, landys ideas seem to grow up a bit. the plot is dark, mixed with a lot of creatures that are showed in their whole glory. no censur or something. why should you make a demon nice and just tell how he punch you in the face, if you can go further. this further, well, it came as a suprise. the only thing i not liked that much -but otherwise it seems normal because their are on the demon road - was that milo and amber are heading from one trouble to another. of to book 2 i go!
