This book had a promising story line but I did not enjoy it as much as I thought I would. It started off a bit slow and overall I just felt it was too cringey (even for me lol) and I just didn’t like the romance. I did love the subplot of her opening a bookshop though, which made me want to keep reading despite all the eye rolling at the other parts. I also saw that it is “Christian fiction” but except for a few Bible verses here and there it had no Christian elements. The few times the characters mentioned God felt forced and very unlike other Christian fiction I’ve enjoyed. Overall, it was an okay book, not the worst I’ve read this year but not the best either.
