It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of UK based crime procedurals. And DCI Daley has got to be one of my favourites - it has all the appeal of the Dalziel & Pascoe books, but updated and thrown into a (stunning) Scottish setting. 

At times the books read like gritty crime, at others like cosy crime - and this book avoids being too neat, avoids being too dirty, yet held my interest. 

I'm certainly hooked, and look forward to reading the next installment!
