Reading the whole series for second time! 

Although this book is aimed at pre pubescent teens, I fricking love it. It’s such a cool world they’ve built and I can’t wait to read the rest.

Only gave it four stars because it’s not my favourite out of all of them

Stephanie (later Valkyrie) is thrown into a life of magic, fighting and survival after the death of her uncle (causing her to inherit most of his belongings and meet his skeleton friend Skulduggery). In this book, we witness 12 year old Stephanie come close to death as she learns about this newly uncovered world, making friends, witnessing betrayal, and learning that she is descended from the Ancient Ones. 

I was not expecting to enjoy this book as much as I did. It felt like a lot was happening to poor Stephanie but it was a very quick and easy read and Skulduggery’s humour was incredible and I am now feeling far too attached to these characters already.
