F*CKING FINALLY!!! Two big things I’ve been waiting to happen. Me ferry is finally being seen for what she is by more than just the “nerd herd”. AND Kalona seems to be at the start of a redemption arch, which I’ve been hoping for since he was introduced.

Now let me say first that I absolutely HATE this cover. I mean the covers of the House of Night books are generally the kind that can be called well misleading. But they are usually visually pleasing especially the later volumes. Now you should not judge a book by it's cover. But the cover was the reason it took me quite a while to start this. Now anyways, I did like this installment, it was good, but I'm getting bored of House of Night(like basically everybody reading up until now). I am planning on also reading book 10 this month, and the last two by the end of the year. Let's hope I'll succeed. I really am most excited of being done with all of the books.

Our characters are integrating themselves back into a snoewhat normal school schedule. Things are being played despite the normal facade that seems to be shown to the public. Eric as a Tracker has just marked his first vampyre fledgling and it didn't quite turn out like one would expect adding an element of mystery to this installment in the House of Night series. We see rifts start to take place in our cast of characters and are left wondering how things will turn out for them. A lot of drama is happening. The ending is very quick and action packed as the last few books have been.  Left on a rather good cliffhanger that has me coming back to the story that has been woven

** spoiler alert ** All I could think about at the end of this book was 'Where in the hell is my Heath with Kleenex's because I seriously need them!' It was a total Zoey moment, I was balling like a baby, snotty and all. It was mainly the sacrifice of Dragon and the reuniting of the Sword Master with his Mate. Ugh it was just, ridiculous. I cry at books and movies all the time, but I haven't cried like this in a LONG time! That being said. I agree with most other reviews of this book that the Cast's must think that teens are completely retarded. Yep, I used the 'r' word! Why? The whole "no one knows their vocabulary" is completely insulting. The words that they talk about not understanding are like fourth grade level vocabulary! And seriously you can stop with all of the modern world teen happenings infiltration of your writing. I don't give two shits about how often you want to write about True Blood and Harry Potter in your novel. Especially seeing as how they all seem so damn busy in every book, they can't find time to be with one another but they have time to watch tv and read? Really?!?! Again, that being said, I do quite enjoy this series, I even have the words 'Always Love' a shortening of "Leave pain and regret and loss behind and bring with you love. Always love." a quote from the end of Awakened tattooed on my body in remembrance of one of my best friends that passed away who loved the series as well (Her middle name was Love). I think the series is a little drug out but hey, they're just making money, and there's nothing wrong with that. The series has it's ups and downs... It's not the best written stuff ever, but it makes me laugh, makes me cry and makes me have a good, if not ridiculously corny, feeling on the inside when I've finished the book. I'm kind of excited to see where the world will go now that Neferet is going to be outed. If she even IS outed because we've thought that before and it hasn't happened. Now to read Lenobia's vow which I'm also quite excited about. I sure do hope her and her cowboy get together in the next book!

._. Okaaaay?.. So this is the point you reach when you're positively, definitely sure that you've had it with the entire series and you're head is all in for switching to some other one that would probably sound more reasonable to go on with, but deep inside, you're having the it's-gonna-be-tough-putting-it-down-when-you-wanna-know-how-it's-ending theme song playing on, with the feeling that your curiosity is probably the reason you'll explode later with high blood pressure, .. and I'm feeling stupid enough for not getting anything of what I'm writing right now. Anyway. Right. The book. Besides despising Zoey (which has already been explained in all of the previous readers' reviews pretty well that I can add no more), the whole thing -since book 3, 4?- went like, you're not feeling anything anymore, you're just going through the lines like you're reading some extra-detailed report, and only being told that "things are happening". Ex. You're standing in the street, receiving some sharp kicks in the guts, but you're not feeling nor seeing anything. Only after, by some coincidence, a total stranger passes you by and mentions "by the way, you were being kicked." And that's it! The whole thing was going over and over with the same rhythm to the point of sickness! I'm not much of a reviews' writer, but I felt like I was going to choke to death if I didn't just let this out somewhere!

Review post: http://totallybookalicious.blogspot.c... Contains Spoilers from Previous books If I try to do my own summary of this I will no doubt give away major spoilers from this book so I am going leave it out of this review because the description pretty much covers it. Now there will be spoilers from previous books so if you haven't read the series it is best not to read on. All you need to know is that I love the series and Destined was exciting, thrilling and amazing but with a few flaws. Destined picks up a day after Awakened finished. Now I loved Awakened and the ending was just OMG, Heath!!! Yeah I am team Heath always have been and always will be. And the twist that the cast ladies put in Awakened was EPIC! So I have been excited to finally get a chance to read Destined. The gang are all back minus poor Jack :'( Zoey I know alot of people don't like her but I do. She has been consisted from book 1 and her strength as a protaginist grows with each book. Now there is some things I don't like about her but it's nothing major just some of words she uses like "bullpoopie" seriously? who says that? Her relationship between her friends isn't as strong in this installement but she is still a good leader and her friends look up to her. Aswell, as Zoey and the gang and the rest of the amazing characters from previous books, we get a new character to love/hate. Aurox. (this is where the spoiler from previous books comes) (view spoiler)[He is a gift from the White Bull to Neferet, for her to use as a weapon to create chaos. But He is flawed. In Awakened, Heath's soul was put into Aurox. So even though he is meant to be dark and evil Aurox is remembering that he is Heath even though he doesn't actually knkow it and that he feels for Zoey. I know I should have hated him for the evilness but I couldn't because I knew Heath was in there and I love me some Heath. (hide spoiler)] As with previous books in the series. Destined takes place over a very short period of time I think it was around five days. But the Cast's are excellent story tellers and managed to fill this book with action, passion, humour and love it was just an excellent storyline and once again typical of these books leaves you on one hell of a Cliffhanger!!! However, this is not prefect! There is flaws and it's mainly some of the words used by a few of characters. I was actually shocked that they had used a couple of words that were actually rude and very offensive to some people. So for that I had to drop a star. Some words I don't want to hear in book, especially in YA novels. Overall though, a must read for any House of Night fan! I am really looking forward to next installement to where the story goes.

I honestly thought this book was really slow, excluding the fight scenes. It just wasn't something I really enjoyed reading 100%. I did love the Stark/Zoey relationship and the fight scenes kept me on the edge, but other than that, it wasn't the greatest. I probably wouldn't read it again. Also Heath is dead, keep him dead!! ugh.

** spoiler alert ** Alright. So, I'm a fan of the series. I loved all 8! but this book was just... Horrible. Heath is back. Don't get me wrong he was awesome in the other 8 books because he added to the drama, but he died! he doesn't need to come back as a weird hollow thing that turns into a bull when he sucks in other vamps emotions. Its also considerably lacking in something. I haven't really caught onto what its lacking but its something. It just seems a bit fast with basically no awesome action and not much romance. Now, Kalona. Its so weird him being all nice now because of his son Rephaim being in love with Stevie Rae. So, that kinda takes out the fun. Neferet is the same (no surprise there). At least the twins are actually not being so twin-like near the end. Oh, and we got a new fledgling hoping on in the HON books. A weird blind girl who gets turned by Erik and ends up seeing peoples aura-type things. Again its just missing some of the aspects as the last books: action, romance, drama. Its has little drama but not enough to keep me interested. Usually when I read these books I finish it after a day or two. It took me 5 days to finish this! I was soooo bored with it and it feeling so short didn't help either. Another cliffhanger. (Surprised much?) whats going to happen in the next 3 books I don't know but I will read those just because I'm curious to how Neferet dies.
