Christmas in Quincy

I did myself dirty and read this last in the series. So I got confused for a hot minute when Knox was flirty.

Overall, this was a cute and fast read. This author never disappoints.

Got me in a Christmasy vibe and it's still August!

Read the prequel after reading all the others in the series that are currently published. 😂

Perry’s writing is great and this world is fun.

Austin and Cleo are so stinking cute. I loved this and wished it was longer.

Cleo Hillcrest would rather cancel Christmas than endure another one of her father’s pretentious holiday parties, making small talk with his rich colleagues and her stepmother’s shallow friends. She’s leaving home to spend three peaceful and quiet days in Quincy, Montana, trading gifts and grandeur for room service and slippers. But she should have expected her family to thwart her plans. The minute she finishes unpacking her suitcase at the quaint Eloise Inn, Austin Myles knocks on her room door. As the head of her father’s security team, Austin’s been ordered to drag Cleo back to California. Only when she refuses to leave, he has no choice but to stay. After a Christmas in Quincy, everything between them is about to change.

The Edens #0.5

Forced to share a room in a fancy hotel in a small montana town with the man she’s always wanted, AND it’s christmas!?! PLEASE, it’s everything i wanted.

This was a Christmas novella that kicks off Devney Perry’s new series, the eden’s. Cleo escapes her life in California to spend christmas in Quincy, Montana, alone and away from her over the top family. Unfortunately, her dad immediately sends his head of security after her. Austin tries his best to drag Cleo home, but she puts up a fight and he eventually decides to stay and look out for her there. This takes place in the town’s famous hotel, The Eloise, owned by the Edens. So now Austin is stuck in the hotel with Cleo, and what do ya know, there aren’t any extra rooms available. Austin has never been very nice to Cleo, bc - shocker - he’s had feelings for her for years. Cleo has had a crush on Austin since the day they met, but she’s convinced he hates her. When they’re forced to spend time together and talk things out, the tension between them finally breaks.

This was a super short read, and another perfect novella to get you in the holiday spirit. Was it tooth-achingly sweet and cheesy at the end? yes. did i love every minute of it? also YES. speaking of toothaches, our girl Cleo here is a baker, and while this novella is short, the list of delicious sounding baked goods in this book was not. I was warned not to read this while i was hungry, and i should’ve listened.

This was a quick and sweet read! It was a nice introduction to the edens series—which I actually read before this🤣

It was a short story so obviously things happen more on the quicker side, but I did appreciate that the author didn’t just throw them together right off the bat and did drag it out a little before anything happened. It gave Austin and Cleo much more tension!

I wasn’t a huge fan of the ending. It was very cute but it just felt too rushed and suddenly he didn’t care about losing his job…even though that’s the whole reason he had tried avoiding her for years. But it was a cute fluffy HEA!
