Shield of Sparrows 

Enjoyed the idea of a world full of monsters. The infection plot made it more exciting. The cursing and conversation between characters made the writing style feel very adolescent. Overall had a good time listening on audiobook.

Such a breathtaking book. Great plot twist with slow burn and world building. I am in love with main protagonists of the story. All of them have a unique personality and charisma. Read the book in one gulp. Can’t wait to read a second part!

I mean… I couldn’t breathe for the last 20 pages. My heart hurts and I can’t believe it ended on a cliffhanger. I’m gonna need book two as soon as possible 😭<br /><br />second read: ugh was still so good, can't wait to immediately dive in and read book 2

Too many chapters/ pages of her training/ being in various camps BUT overall loved and plot twists plot twisted !!! Pls make R cut his hair omg but can’t wait for the next book. My girl Evie better be ok and happy forever

I really liked the enemies-to-lovers portion, and the plot was interesting enough for me to keep reading. I loved the characters, and the settings . . . but it got confusing. The monsters were scary, but I didn’t feel the fear as much. Parts of it were pretty bland to me, and I almost didn’t finish it.

The ending was probably the best part of this book. And the sex.

Also, the part where the woman tries to put her husband’s decapitated head back on made me laugh out loud.

I’m screaming because my review deleted itself. Ok so this book left me feeling eh. I didn’t hate it and I didn’t love it. I could go the rest of my life and never read the next book or live in this world again. It honestly feels like a story in fantasy kingdom no. 46 starring red headed girl who dyes her hair brown. I may have smirked here and there but I honestly don’t remember or recall most of this book. I hate to say forgettable but it’s forgettable and I’m usually really good at recalling every detail in books. Yawn. :/

The 75-100% of this book summary is everything that this book needed, you literally do not need the first part to understand the last part. The last 25% could have been the whole book, but it was not enough to redeem itself in my eyes at all. 

Do not come into this thinking it’s a "slow burn" romantasy because you will be disappointed, I wish I had the power to DNF but I don't.
