My family really enjoys the Little Books published by the Diocese of Saginaw and I hoped this would provide some equally interesting and enjoyable daily reflections for us during Advent. Unfortunately it didn't. I liked the Introduction since it talked about how we need to work hard to not get caught up in the superficial and materialistic aspects of the season. The daily selections were not particularly short and were meant more for silent reading than sharing aloud (mostly). They also required a bit more depth of thought and time investment than I was looking for. There were 2 exceptions - Dec 14 and 16. Dec 14 talks about how we're actually pretty good at giving gifts but are not good at receiving them - a really interesting piece. Dec 16 is an awesome discussion of the genealogy of Jesus, that long list of generations that link Jesus to Abraham and David. I haven't stopped thinking about that one for 3 weeks. I highly recommend those two selections.
