Hands down the best audiobook production I’ve heard. Immersive and hugely enjoyable. Gaiman is a gripping storyteller, and the book, or audio play really, had that rare compulsive binging quality. Since this only covers the first sandman issues, I really hope there’s a sequel.
I loved this book. The plot was a bit fishy at times but then it just flowed and the entire dramatisation was incredible.

I started listening to this book after watching the Netflix show and I really liked it. Gaiman writing style shows up clearly, and not only because he's the narrator. Something that fascinates me is how this is just a set of short stories with a single character interconnecting them, there is no much continuity between them, but when there is it becomes a spark of joy. Is a very peculiar narrative.
This was epic and solidified the first few volumes as some of my favourites. Getting to hear my absolute favourite sandman stories of all time (24 hours and Collectors) in this format was incredible. I have also timed this excellently as Act II comes out end of this month, cannot wait.
In typical Neil Gaiman fashion this was an epic listen. It had a full cast with sound effects and music, which really added to the experience overall. I really enjoyed how creepy it was and how a lot of the storylines weaved together throughout. I was a little confused on how it ended but I think that will be cleared up when #2 comes out. If you love dark fantasy and/or Neil Gaiman I would highly suggest you listen to this.
This is very obviously for fans of the graphic novel and not the way one should be introduced to The Sandman, like I was. I missed the descriptions, particularly of people. I have been told I remind people of Death because we have similar styles but I don't know what that means because I have no clue what she looks like. But the production and audio on this was fantastic, the acting was great. It just wasn't for me, after Morpheus found his items I found it difficult to care enough to finish this.
This was an unbelievably good dramatisation, so much more than your average audio book. I can't recommend it enough, if you're in any way tempted to listen to this please do, you won't regret it.
Biased review (?) because some of these are my favourite stories from The Sandman, but of course a huge deal of the rating is the performance in general.
I loved this! The rich audio-scape and the voice actors heightened this story in the audio form the way the graphic novels do visually. Highly recommend this audiobook.
