I had a lot of expectations on this book because people around me were raving about it. It has a lot of gems in it and overall the message of the book was good. His thoughts on intimacy, vulnerability and being our authentic self got me really excited. And I believe it's a journey we all need to go on. He challenges the temptation to want to hide behind a mask and live for an applause. It's scary... The book as a whole was a bit difficult to read. It felt fragmented. However, every few paragraphs there were powerful ideas. I understand Don had collected a lot of stories, but within each chapter there was a lot of different things going on. If you've read any of Dr. Brene Brown's books, this might seem a bit repetitive. Less scientific and more storytelling. I would still highly recommend it because it is challenging and will lead you to rethink the way you're doing relationships. Vulnerability and tearing down walls is a journey and I appreciate Don's journey he shares.

I’ve read this book so many times it’s not even funny. My go to for a pep talk - Don always reminds me that no matter how fucked up things may seem tomorrow’s a new day that can bring a new, slightly more graceful and loving us.
