I am a sucker for a good romance with tension, misunderstandings and plenty of heat! Aiden and Laurel have known each other since they were little children and as teenagers were hot for each other but boys being boys.... let's just say that Laurel has been harboring a grudge against Aiden for a long time! Laurel has recently moved back to her hometown of Darling, VT. and has just crossed paths with Aiden. Oh boy the heat and tension between them jumped off the pages. Did I say that Aiden is dreamy ? Well he is beyond hot and dreamy and Laurel is having a hard time staying mad! As far as the town of Darling, VT goes? It is definitely a place that I would love to visit, Vermont being one of my favorite places to vacation and Darling sounds quaint and pretty. There is more to the story of course than all the heat between these two, Aiden has a good heart as does Laurel and they  help out a homeless man and become his champion. I thought that was a great part to this story, I won't give too much away but the author manages to convey the wonderful moral that you never can judge a book by it's cover, you never know who that homeless person really is and you may be surprised. We meet Aiden's boisterous and fun loving siblings and parents, I am hoping that the next books feature more of them :) We also meet Laurel's friend Willow, whom I already love because of her health food cafe and her love of yoga! This book has me wanting more of these characters. This review was originally posted on A WordPress Site

This book was nothing like I expected and in the very best way. I got this book and I thought I knew what I was getting, a second chance romance with a lot of adversity brewing. It turns out it was nothing like that and so much better. I have to say the favourite part of his book for me was George. He was such a wonderful secondary character and I'm annoyed we didn't get to learn more of his past. I can only hope he continues to feature as the series continues because he has so much more to give. I know what you really care about is the romance between Laurel and Aiden and what they were like as characters. I liked them. I was a bigger fan of Aiden because he was more open and knew what he wanted in the beginning. As for Laurel, I appreciated her situation and she may have frustrated me but I did really like her as well. I did really love it though. They had real chemistry which never felt forced and I did feel it was good. I would recommend to small town romance readers. The romance is a bit tamer in this one than others I've read but I think I liked it for that fact.

This is the first book by Donna Alward I have ever read but I will be looking into buying more of her books and I will be continuing into this series because I have to say that I very much enjoyed Somebody Like You. The story is different from any other romance books I have read so far. The characters were realistic and I really did like Aiden and Laurel. This is one that I will be keeping and most likely reading again in the future. I give this book 4 out of 5
