I recently just bought Dragon Bound, for a group read, and since I just adore shifter romances, and this author has been at the top of my list of authors to read. I do have a weakness for dragons, and after reading Dragon Bound, I am hooked on this author. I have already bought the second one. Thea Harrison brings out certain aspects of shifter love stories, that completely captures your attention from the first paragraph. There was quite a few things that I enjoyed about Dragon Bound. As the first in the series, I felt like this author set up this world with enough description and sensuality to get you hooked immediately. I never felt lost in her writing or confused. Pia finds herself being forced into a situation with no good ending in sight. She ends up having no option but to steal a penny from the leader of the Wyr (dragon shifters), and through some miracle she manages it without getting caught. But she knows that he will try to find her, and she will have to live a life on the run. With the help of a friend she manages to escape into a territory that is a enemy to the Wyr. But then she is shocked when her good luck runs out, and she finds herself captured by Dragos. In the beginning she expects him to kill her or torture her, but she is shocked when neither of those things actually occur. Dragos is furious with Pia when he finally finds the thief that stole his penny. But he finds himself being seduced by her beauty and her sweet spirit, and did what had to be done to survive. He starts to truly admire her, but there are vultures circling around them, threatening both of them. Only by truly trusting one another and working as a team will they be able to conquer all that stands between them. I have heard so many great things about Dragon Bound since it came out, and I don't know how I waited this LONG to finally get my booty in gear and read it! Thea Harrison is going up my list along side with J.R. Ward and Christine Feehan. There was so much that I enjoyed about this story. There was so much mystery and intrigue and a intensity to the story that only tightened its hold on me. I loved this couple, Pia and Dragos were stellar together. There was quite a few surprises here and there, and the chemistry alone is hot enough to heat the whole planet up. Dragon Bound lived up to my expectations and even more than that it turned into one of those stories that burns in your memory forever. A Tale full of passion, paranormal suspense, with such witty interactions between the characters, you will have no choice but to fall in love. A WINNNER of a read and I guarantee it will delight you from your head to your toes. A must read for any that are looking for a thrilling and intense romance yet soft and juicy on the inside.

I liked the characters in this book and the story that it follows but it was hard to read at some points. First off, I’m not a huge fan of third person, it never feels personal enough and I don’t get to actually be the character. It was a little all over the place and was super rushed at the end. I would have liked more about the baby and even more about her badass fighting skills. I feel like the author could have went into more detail about a lot of things. Overall, I liked the story and the big broody love interest but was expecting more.

✌ Buddy read with my MacHalo Freaks ✌ Warning: my reviewing mojo is still AWOL. This will therefore be a Super Crappy Review (SCR™). I really didn't feel like writing it, and tried to get out of it by subcontracting to one of my ungrateful dear friends, but not a single one of these wimps lovely people felt up to the task. So it's their fault if you have to suffer through this Piece of Crap (PoC™). Confucianism Confusion is me. There usually are two possible outcomes when I read Freaking PNR Novels (FPN™): ➽ 99,99% of the time, these delightful pieces of literature make me feel like this: ➽ 0,01% of the time, a miracle happens I lose all judgement, and end up feeling like this: Yeah, I get all pink and levitate and shake and stuff. Well that was until today. Sorry, what was that? I finished reading this FPN™ almost a month ago, you say? Err, yes. And your point is? I shouldn't say "until today," because technically it's "until about a month ago," you say? Oh bloody hell, would you get off my back for once?! Would that be too much to ask?! Please don't bother to answer that, I think I know what you're going to say *sighs dramatically* Some friends you are. Anyway, where was I? Oh yes, the two possible outcomes and all that crap. So the whole feeling either like this or like that thing lasted until the day I finished this book (view spoiler)[← happy now?! (hide spoiler)]. And until that glorious day, there had only been two glorious types of glorious FPN™ for me: ① The Bloody Hell Feminism Committed Suicide Again I Need to Kill this Stupid Stupid Stupid Lame-A-Saurus Piece of Crap with Fire before it Claims more Victims You're Welcome (BHFCSAINtKtSSSLASPoCwFbiCmVYW™) type. ② The Oh What the Freaking Hell is Wrong with me I Think I Have Finally Lost it I just Gave 5 Freaking Stars to a Freaking PNR Novel Halp this is the End of the World as We Know it (OWtFHiWwmITIHFLiIjG5FStaFPNHtitEofWaWKi™) type. All was fine and dandy in my slightly bipolar PNR world when this book happened. I was anxiously awaiting to rage and rant and dismember and stuff. And what happened? This happened: Introducing…the So Bland and Dull it won't Even Cut through Butter Freaking PNR Novel (SBaDiwECtBFPN™)! So flat and lackluster and uninteresting you won't suffer horribly while reading it! So uninspired and unexciting and unstimulating you will forget all about it two days after finishing it! So unexceptional and unremarkable and un-pretty much everything you will even forget to write a review for it! Be glad and rejoice, people, for this is Pain Free PNR (PFP™)! WOO HOO! YAY! ← these expressions of joy and excitement might be slightly sarcastic. Bloody hell, what a total rip-off this book was. I mean, seriously?! PNR so insipid you don't even get a good rant out of it?! Who has ever heard of such a ridiculous thing?! This is a disgrace. This book brings shame to the glorious PNR genre. This will NOT do. Some things are just not done, Thea Harrison. The Murderous crustaceans are not happy, Thea Harrison. The Murderous crustaceans shall not condone such scandalous behavior, Thea Harrison. The Murderous crustaceans need to vent and bitch about something, Thea Harrison. They will get their ragey fix one way or another, Thea Harrison. Be afraid, be very afraid. PS: this flat, lackluster, uninteresting, uninspired, unexciting, unstimulating, unexceptional, unremarkable, un-everything story is about dragons. It is kind of implied in the book title, but I thought I'd point it out anyway. You're welcome. [Pre-review nonsense] » We have survived fin-less, gill-less, scale-less, tail-less mermen. » We have survived haunted vaginas. » We have survived plushophilia. » We have survived freaking corn porn (barely). » We even survived a hilarious humor bestseller (I still wonder how we made it through this one). »» Will we survive if this proves to be yet another crappy dragon read? I doubt it. Not sure the damage caused by Kiss of Fire can be undone. I think we're going to need my faithful Gustav's help for this one. There, that should do it.

Enjoyed it but the heroine wasn’t my favorite (odd because she was definitely written as a strong, holds her own type of character, but I’m not sure I buy it). Good emphasis on communication for the most part. I think I’m more looking forward to the following books (also I think my mom read this and told me about it like two years ago, which makes it kind of weird lol)

I enjoyed the story, but I hate romance and smut books. This had way too much of both. Lots of cringe worthy moments throughout.
