Left with a few questions, but a good ending

It was a marathon of a trilogy. But I loved it all along. There were so many moments that kept me at the edge my seat (couch) and found myself turning page after page.

Here it is, the much-awaited conclusion to the Silo series! I was wondering what Howey would come up with in this last instalment and hoped it would be as exciting a read as Wool and Shift, well it is! I was actually relieved when I started reading and found myself enjoying Dust as much as I did the two previous books. I've read so many series with a disappointing ending in the past few years that I have come to dread the last instalment of any series. Anyway, this is not the case here and the whole story behind the Silo comes full circle and the pieces of the puzzle all come together. Dust is a fantastic conclusion to the Silo trilogy. Howey's writing keeps the reader riveted, never knowing what to expect at the turn of the next page. A dark, gripping tale by a master story-teller. One thing though, why oh why did Howey have to write that ridiculous epilogue? Why couldn't he just leave the story as it was at the end of the last chapter. I liked his Author's Note very much and thought it concluded the trilogy nicely so why add an epilogue after that? It just doesn't feel right as it is unoriginal and predictable, the last thing you would expect from Howey. It's a good thing I love the trilogy so much that I simply wouldn't let the epilogue spoil it for me. It is after all one of the very best science-fiction story I have ever read:)

The Silo series feels like a more realistic version of Fallout (the video game). This conclusion to the trilogy wraps up enough storylines and plots that just about all questions are answered - which was somewhat satisfying, but felt it was missing the same sense of mystery as part 1.

Fantastic series, and a good finale. Though I found there were *a lot* of deaths in the book, I thought the story arc was quite good. A good number of loose ends were tied up, and it made for a satisfying read. Highly recommended.

Good end to the series. I thought this book rambled on a little bit, but I can't complain too much. Most likely I was just really excited to see how it ended.
