Alex Rider is back again! This time, he's in France with Sabina Pleasure. The house he's staying at blows up, and he sees Yassen Gregorovich. Can he connect the clues? Will MI6 help him? What is Damien Cray up to? What is Eagle Strike?

While on vacation, Alex stumbles on a plot that ends up injuring the father of his new friend, Sabina. When he spots Yassen Gregorovich, he knows the hit man is there to kill someone, but when he ignores the threat, he quickly finds out that Sabina's father is the target. Alex sets out to find out who Gregorovich is working for, and the trail leads him to former pop singer and entrepreneur, Damian Cray. Cray's software company is about to release a new game with profits going to the anti-drug effort throughout the world, but Alex discovers that Cray isn't what he says and the game has much more sinister implications. Eagle Strike is the name of the video game that Cray is about to release and is also the title of this fourth entry in the Alex Rider series. Once again, Alex is faced with another threat that might end the world. In this book, we start to see the toll that Alex's adventures are taking on him and his life. Sabina is the first real friend that Alex has had other than Jack, so she is important to him, but life has been difficult for Alex, and these new threats make it tough for Alex to maintain friendships. As with the other books in the series, there is lots of thrills, action, and suspense, while the plot is a little over the top. Overall, however, Eagle Strike is a very enjoyable story with a satisfying conclusion. 3 1/2 stars.

WOW. I forgot about basically this entire book except for the very ending. But not until I read it haha. I want to hug my lil spy baby.

4.5 stars I kind of think this is my favorite Alex Rider book so far. I did enjoy Point Blanc but this book is kinda a masterpiece. Here are a few reasons why: 1. Alex on his own So I actually loved the different vibe of Alex working without MI6. It felt a bit reminiscent of The Hardy Boys or something. The sleuthing and getting into danger vibes (like legit every other Alex Rider book lol) were immaculate. I mean, it also helped that Alex actually believed and kinda enjoyed what he was doing as well. 2. More Jack Starbright Jack is a literal queen. I love her so much. She’s so funny and is pretty much the only person who actually cares about Alex’s welfare, which is super sad. Her inclusion was awesome and I hope this means we’ll see more of her in later books. 3. (view spoiler)[ The plot and the whole Yassen Gregorovich thing. This is the part that elevated the plot for me. We finally get ANSWERS. Alex’s dad working with Yassen, and the way it all tied into the prologue, was astounding. I kind of figured it out. Kind of. But I still loved it. I was also a bit disappointed by Yassen’s death but part of me is like “is he really dead?” Cause one does not simply kill off Yassen. But only time will tell. (hide spoiler)] 4. How this changed the direction of the series I kind of feel like the previous point changes the direction of the series and I’m so excited to see how this all plays out. I am also looking forward to seeing Alex process all this, though that can get a bit sad sometimes. Anyway, this is by no means an exhaustive list and I am looking forward to the continuation of the series.
