The writing style of this book is the most alluring thing with the whole book. The story about the Bastable children might be fun to read for some, although it does not provide a good deal of detail and insight of their adventures. However, the tales are told from the point of view of one of the children and provide a fun way to imagine the adventures as they unfold. 

It is undoubtedly a good read for someone who doesn't have a lot of time on their hands to endulge into a more complicated story or provides a good way in (or back in, as it did for me) to the world of books. 

Just as the narrator says in the ending, this story does remind some of Dicken's tales and is thus a sweet little tale about children's ways of solving grown-up problems.
