This book was enjoyable but more about healing trauma than the romance (I'd give it half a 🌶). Finished the book but it didnt keep me engaged while reading.

           so youre saying that davien treating katria like shit whenever he felt like in his petty rage as the supposed king is all forgotten within a minute and hes, out of nowhere, okay w giving it all up and abiding her bc shes a Queen, thus in power now? nah fuck off

i mightve indulged (or tolerated) these stupid fucking characters at a diff place in time and im so sad bc i havent done the disgusting art of skim reading in a loooooooooooong while but the moment the 50% mark hit, i did not have left even a single fuck to give abt this book. i found the main couple's personal conflicts to be too boring and childish for the kind of hard lives they've lived. i did not feel even mildly sympathetic or anything of that kind for katria and that's rude ig but idgaf . i just had to finish this bc with time i still wna read the next book in the series and it was not Too atrocious for me to hit dnf (too cruel) 

and this one's COMPLETELY personal but i fucking hated the sex in this. i always most certainly end up hating sex scenes in books bc a) too cringe alpha male bs or b) too abrupt that it ends up taking away from the plot but here, the way davien and katria went from 0 to a 100 so quick gave me whiplash and made them not at all believable in my eyes as a compatible couple. and the last twist/reveal sucked ass bc wtf 

the only good thing abt this? the beautiful cover !!!! mwah 10/10 would stamp it on a wall in the house def 👍👍 

tl;dr: i do not think these bitches should've ended up together.

1.5 ⭐ i am, again being generous as hell for this too long for no reason shit ! this was exactly elf king but since i had alr experienced it once, i had less tolerance for the bullshit moves the author pulled in this one
