So I can’t be too harsh with this because I knew what I was getting into when I picked up the book. I just wanted a fun read, and this gave me that. So, let’s talk about the things Eliza Raine did that stood out to me positively. The way she described the characters’ appearances was rich in detail, I loved the visual of what each deity looked like. The cliff hanger at the end of book two was well done. The twist near the end of the third book was a surprise to me, so I enjoyed that. Lastly, how she described the different realms that each god/goddess resided in was interesting. 
If you’re looking for a simple entertaining read, and you like Greek mythology then maybe give this trilogy a read and see if it’s for you.

Obsessed! This book was so damn good, may be a top 10 favorite of mine now.

This is a special edition of the complete Ares Trials series, in hardback. Anger management isn't so bad when your shrink is gorgeous. It's less great when you turn up to find him dead on the floor, and an armored giant dressed like a freaking ancient warrior standing over his body though. Ares, the God of War, has lost his power and the only way for him to get it back? Me. Apparently, I'm a goddess. One with the power of war. I mean, it does explain a lot. To my relief, Joshua, my shrink and only friend, isn't really dead. He's been kidnapped and taken to Olympus-the world where I'm supposed to belong. I vow to do whatever it takes to find him. But Ares has other plans for me. He wants my power, and the easiest way for him to get it is to kill me. When Hades suggests a compromise, I'm forced to work side-by-side with a giant, murderous warrior god. One with far too many secrets. Ares might be the brute everyone thinks he is, but I'm no angel. He awakens a power within me that I've failed to control my whole life. And I soon discover that Joshua isn't the only one that needs saving.

Great addition to the Dark Gods of Olympus series. Although I did find this a little slower than The Hades Trails. Not a big fan of the ending. 

I am a huge sucker for Hades and Persephone retellings, this one did not disappoint. The author does a great job at integrating modern day aspects into the world of mythology. I loved the fact that there was a land named Virgo, being a Virgo that was a highlight (I know, super nerdy lol). 

The main character was definitely one if my favorites, she was determined to prove herself and learn about the things she once lost ( I don’t want to give anything away, but omg the twist) The dynamic between Persephone and Hades was perfect, I loved the way their pull is inevitable although it could be lethal once together. 

The side characters aren’t shy or compliments in my opinion! Between Hecate and Skop it was such a great development in relationships. Skop was hilarious, annoying in the beginning but ended up being one of my favs! I loved how Persephone’s friendship grew with Skop. 

The flow of the different stages in the trials were intense, I loved how the author incorporated different gods to determine each stage. Ugh! And the ending, yes a total cliffhanger! I will definitely be continuing the series! 

This is perfect for lovers of Hades and Persephone with a Badass heroine and amazing side characters. Absolutely loved it! Huge thanks to the author for sending me a copy of this book! I look forward to reading more!


Loved this sequel! The flow of the stories keeps you completely hooked! Persephone and Hades are luring and sexy. I love the development of Persephone’s power adonde her wit. The trials were definitely more intense than the first book. 

Here we learn more about how and why Persephone and Hades relationship has gone this path. Side characters are so relevant in this series and I love it! Hecate is such a badass, I enjoyed learning about her origins as well! I am diving into the 3rd book immediately!! That ending was eeeeeek!


I am such a huge fan of this series! Hades and persephone are my fav couple to read about. Love the unraveling of the story. Persephone is so fearless and resilient. I cant wait to read more by Eliza Raine!
