Dog of the North

There is a lot to unpack in this book. Unfortunately, there are so many catastrophes within the plot that a lot of the themes get lost or overshadowed. There was so much happening, making it too busy and making any humour overexageratted, and I stopped finding it funny quite quickly.

The ending felt very abrupt. I was listening to the audiobook, and when it suddenly finished, I was in disbelief! It kind of felt like the author ran out of more she could force to happen to Penny and therefore just gave up, despite a lot of the plot points feeling unresolved.

It's definitely a very particular niche of a book, but it's one I don't fall into.
