This book is confusing, there was no connection between the mc 

Also there is cheating but I knew that and I still gave this book a chance but yeah I had high expectations for this and I’m a little disappointed

I don’t care what anyone says about this book. I LOVED IT.

The way the author describes the pain, the longing, the guilt. It sunk into me. I could feel it with the way they described it. It was sad, beautiful, tragic. (Yes, like the Taylor Swift song).

I’ve long accepted that not everyone will enjoy the things I do but if you love stories of pining, silent conversations, longing stares, a love that scares you because it’s wrong but yet right all at the same time, the angst, slow burn and yes, it’s not perfect and maybe sometimes problematic BUT the way it squeezed at my heart and broke it and healed it all at once. I don’t how to describe it.

I just… I loved it. And I know this book will stay with me for a long time.

I listened to this over audio book, and it was a fun read. it was also heart breaking. 

The past vs present flip of timeline is a favorite of mine because we know the end, but there’s still so much to figure out as you go. 

Do I believe Jules is a terrible person for what happened? I don’t. I believe she was young and immature on how to handle what she was being out through.

She tried her best to be what they all needed, even at the expense of her own happiness. 

This wasn’t a full of joy book, it was more full of summer sadness.

It made you really look at what you’re providing a relationship and what you’re getting. everything is give and take and you have to decide what’s a level that makes you truly happy.

Luke tho- whew. He was incredible throughout the entire book. He always knew exactly what Jules needed, even when she didn’t.


If we had heard Luke’s POV this might have been a 4⭐️ rating for me. Jules is just always so hard on herself and brings things to a close before they need to be.

           This book where do I start? I have to say this book was definitely so much more than a romance.. this felt like Juliet’s story and journey and so much of what happens pisses me off because I was always rooting for her even if those around her constantly tried to make her less.. this book embodies everything wrong about society’s feminine ideologies of the women having to do all the cooking and cleaning while the men just sit.. it genuinely pissed me off how realistic this was because I’ve seen this happen time and time again.. one more thing I hated to see was how when Juliet tells Danny that she was raped all he asked was how many times because of it happened multiple times it couldn’t have possibly been rape seeing as she should’ve avoided the guy?! And he was angry at her for not being a virgin anymore?! This describes her very thing that is wrong with society and how common victim blaming is, that girls are constantly scared of speaking up because we know the first question anybody asks is “what were you wearing? How were you acting? Maybe you flirted? Maybe you were asking for it?” 
Juliet was my girl.. I love her and I just want to protect her, she wasn’t a perfect person and was definitely flawed but I just loved how she learned from Luke to grow into herself and stand up for herself.. Luke was just perfect. I loved how protective he was of Jules and how they constantly defended and protected each other. They constantly fought for each other’s dreams and were just soulmates. Their love story was subtle, no grand gestures but it still felt real in a wholesome way.. I wish we had more of them happy and together 💞

Listening to labor and the archer while reading this was an experience that’s for sure..

I ached while reading this book. it’s a painful glimpse into the lasting effects trauma and guilt can have and the way they shape you—often holding you in place when all you want to do is be free. it’s melancholic and suspenseful, but underneath it all, The Summer We Fell is a hopeful love story.
