Another adorable Finlay Donovan novel. And it looks like we will be getting a 4th book too! I love the ease of these books, and how Cosimano doesn't let the humor of the story get in the way of a good mystery. We do learn who Easy Clean is in this book - which has been the big mystery since book 1. This is the kind of series to start reading if you have ever found yourself saying you "lost your love of reading" when you were a child. They are digestible, yet incredibly cute and entertaining.

Another funny romp with mystery and hijinx. Finlay and Vero go to to a community police academy run by their local police department in order to learn the identity of "easy clean", a dirty cop turned contract killer. They are also trying to keep Vero safe from the threat from her past that has caught up with her. Both Finlay and Vero come clean, at least partially, with some of the secrets they have been hiding from people close to them. Finlay with her love interest and Vero with Finlay. That is supposed to feel like character development. And maybe it is. I am not sure it is enough for me. The plots in this series get more and more ridiculous, but this series never pretended to be otherwise. That is a feature, not a bug. I have enjoyed it and the humor lands with me, but it is starting to feel a little stale. The side characters are more interesting than Finlay and her budding relationship with the good-hearted but slightly boring cop. This book ends on a cliff-hanger, so obviously there will be at least one more book. I wish I was more excited for it.

This is one of my ultimate favorite series. That first paragraph in the first book gripped me and it didn't let go. Three books later and I still adore Finlay and Vero, maybe now more than ever. 

The friendship between these two ladies is a literal example of "ride or die". I love that. Once again, Finally is left to clean up someone else's messes. Finlay and Vero now have to get money where there isn't any so that they can pay off the people that are after Vero. There is a heave feeling of persecution. The kids may be in danger. I'm a little upset they were not that involved in this book since one of Finlay's most amazing traits is how much she adores her kids. 

Our hot FBI detective is back and things are looking up in the romance department for Finlay, or is it? She can't stop thinking about things should be feeling a whatnot. Comparing her real life to the one she projected on paper for her novels. 

Steven is a stinks. We know this but now we know he is definitely hiding something. Finlay is completely clueless. Seriously, I want to shake her up a bit. 

There is a beautiful cliffhanger and I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book.

During their time at a local bar where several cops hang out after work, Finlay runs into Nick.  While recovering from his gunshot wound, he is in charge of the Citizens' Police Academy and encourages Finlay and Vero to sign up.  They accept with the idea that they may discover who EasyClean is before Feliks' patience runs out.

Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun is another good entry in the Finlay Donovan series.  There are several laugh out loud moments as Finlay and Vero continue to find more trouble. It is easy to root for Finlay as she continues to deal with her writing struggles as well as her on-and-off again relationship with Nick.  The main mystery, however, focuses on the identity of EasyClean.  Overall, Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun is an enjoyable read that leaves the audience wanting more.
