It is actually foul to me on how terribly everyone treated Fenn.

Also, Sloane was the most annoying character I've read in a while. I forgot that she was that insufferable. Everyone but Fenn seemed almost clinically insane.

I was looking forward to this book after the pieces we got of Casey and Fenn. And boy, was I disappointed. Romance was nonexistent, and they spent almost no time together that was happy.

I hate to say it, but in my eyes, Fenn was an innocent bystander who didn't deserve the beef he received from everyone. It was giving "Edge of Seventeen" to me, and I despised it. He is betrayed, and somehow, he is made to apologize and feel like he is the villain. It was page after page of verbal abuse as he sunk further and further into despair. I stood beside him the whole time and cringed.

The fact that he apologized to Casey was valid because she deserved one, but it gets to a point. She eventually betrays him, in a way I was think is unforgiveable, and so did Lawson. Somehow, he forgives her in such a short time?! And she didn't even really ask for forgiveness. He kept apologizing to her and never receives an apology himself?! He deserved one. He was too forgiving; or maybe I'm too bitter. I also hated how Casey has some feelings for Lawson, because it then cheapens the main romance. Not like we spent much time with Casey and Fenn in a romantic way.

I know what he did was bad; but he still saved her life, and everyone treated him like trash.

I haven't seen a character get treated like trash like this for a while.

I grew to care for Lawson at the end, and RJ has always been meh. But everyone else is on my list. My annoyance list.

Despite all of this, I didn't hate it. Fenn saved the book, but otherwise everyone else was heinous. I am intrigued in Lawson. The end made me want more of him.

holy shit. i lowkey think lawson is dead but ya know the book ended so i couldn’t figure it out

This book needed a harsher editor. That middle section was excruciating to read and felt unnecessarily drawn out. Again, Elle Kennedy can do funny characters and interesting characters. But the plot and story felt off in this one.

Will I still read the next book in the series? Yes. Because Kennedy knows how to leave a cliffhanger that you have to see resolved.
