I force myself to stop thinking about the day she’ll move out of town again. Leaving me as empty as I felt the last time she left.

With a wonderful tension built out of blending two great angsty yet comic tropes, this author blends Brothers Best Friend with the Second Chance Romance tropes in the best way! If you like banter and dialogue as much as I do then you have a great choice here for a wonderful weekend read. You'll feel that Melody and Zac are your own friends by the end of the first chapter and you will be rooting for them to get together and waiting to watch their passions explode on the page. Clean, funny, romantic, and wonderfully written I enjoyed every page and the glimpses into the lives of characters I have met before in other books by Wilde.

well, Zac is indeed my first fav book bf of the year!

i devoured this book!! it was amazing and i liked everything in it. 

the writing was perfect in my opinion. i got immediately hooked from the beginning. this small town wasn’t described as full of rainbows, it was just a small town. (finally!) it was an amazing romance plot with the brother’s childhood best friend. it kept you on your toes to learn what happened 10 years ago, it was a slow burn because you just couldn’t wait for them to get together, while at the same time, it wasn’t frustrating because there wasn’t miscommunication and you had plenty of scenes between them. i liked how we had the parts with the friend group as well but again not in a rainbow friendship kind of way. all these parts were pretty funny as well. we also had other serious issues mentioned like Noah’s, who was another super cool and funny character. all these to say that the world around them was 

 —which i can’t stress enough how i appreciate in books— and made the book all the more interesting and funny. 

i saw reviews about Parker, Melody’s twin brother, (and i got into the book a bit biased) but he wasn’t that bad at all. i mean, he was just super close with her, they obviously had a certain dynamic the two of them for all their life and he had the free pass to push her do things. i don’t want to spoil things but apart from what he said and did in the past, where he was young and stupid obviously, in the present day, i found it pretty normal to want to push her towards something if he had her in his guest room feeling miserable for days. 🤷🏼‍♀️

honestly, i liked everything. how the story progressed between Zac and Melody, how we got to see Melody’s growth, realisations and slow healing. not in a dramatic way. it was just a process in her head and her actions. she was also the grumpy one but she wasn’t rude or unlikeable. she was actually lovely and funny. 

what can i possibly say about Zac? just please someone exchange him with my boyfriend, will you? he was so sweet and so sexy and so hot and so i’m-week-on-my-knees-please-hold-me! where did he find this dirty mouth ?! and the next moment he was the cutest creature there was! i just can’t get over this fact, really! but it wasn’t forced, it really wasn’t. it was so natural and so normal and so beautiful and i’m going to shut up now and let you read it for yourself in order to understand what i’m saying!

this book was super spicy and cute and funny, with no unnecessary drama and ugly tears. it was entertaining, it had a good side plot, a great amount of sports and football. and it’s sure become one of my favourites! i loved it actually and it helped me out of a really bad mood!
