The rules were simple . . . Keep my hands off his daughter and stay out of trouble. But now I'm stuck with her. There's only one bed. And, well, rules are made to be broken. I'm the golden boy of professional bull riding. Or at least I was until it all blew up in my face. Now, my agent says I have to clean up my image, so I'm stuck with his ball-busting daughter for the rest of the season as my "full-time supervision." But I don't need a goddamn babysitter, especially one with skin-tight jeans, a sexy smirk, and a mouth she can't stop running . . . A mouth I can't stop thinking about. She says this means nothing. I say this means everything. She says there are boundaries we shouldn't cross. That my reputation can't take any more hits-and neither can her damaged heart. I say I'm going to steal it anyway. This was my first book from Elsie Silver, and it was honestly quite a ride. Got this suggestion from booktok, and honestly it was kinda overhyped. But love the characters and it’s development. I honestly love Cade and Winter’s depth as an individual person (excited to read the rest from this series; and maybe a bit bias because I already love them based from their description).

Love Rhett’s personality. His not-so-wild side and how he perceives the outside world. As someone who’s the eldest sibling, he really infuriated me (hence my love for Cade already lol). But the way he is portrayed has this realness to it which is important on his personality as a whole. His recklessness, the thirst for attention, his drive on really finding out who he is. But I just don’t like how he hates seeing Summer cry. Like dude let her cry? Regardless if it’s happy, sad, angry, or whatever type of tears are those, leave her and her tears be.

I like it how the consequences of the Summer’s parents still reflects her up to this day. It gave depth on how it shaped her as a person. Summer was such a sweetheart. One thing I loved about her as well was how relatable she was. Her struggles, her perseverance, her doubts, it was something that I do personally experience as well.

Kinda hoped there’s more punchiness and flavor to the story. It feels a bit basic to be honest compared to some other novels I’ve read that shares the same genre (but I am in no way an expert with it lmao). I honestly didn’t feel like this is a small town romance (maybe because of where majority of the story took place). The whole book feels like a prologue to what’s in store for the rest of the series, but maybe that’s just me. For an erotic lit, this one is very mild for me lol. I’ve honestly read better PWP from AO3 and twitter, but the way it was written here is almost there, so like good enough. I also kinda hoped they gave more background with Summer’s relationship with that douchy doctor lol. I haven’t read the other books yet so I don’t know if it will be explored there, but I didn’t like how Summer was groomed and it was somehow thrown out of the window after that one scene from the hospital.

Overall I enjoyed this in a way. I am excited though with the next book, mainly because I love the way the next male lead has been describe on this first book lmao. But this is definitely a read, a decent recommendation especially if you’re trying to explore small-town romances genre.
