I really had a hard time rating this book. Although the plot isn't brilliant, and despite the fact that it was really predictable, I was hooked to this book till the end. 3 ⭐

Oh my fucking god this was so good. 😫 Hooked and Promises & Pomegranates we’re some of my favorite reads this year, and Emily & Sav joined forces to create something truly masterful in Be Still My Heart. This book was a whole meal and I devoured it bite by delicious bite. This takes place in a coastal island town in Maine, following Lincoln—a grumpy lobsterman ex-SEAL, and detective Sloane—who’s been brought in from the mainland to help solve a series of homicides plaguing the small town. He starts out as a person of interest, and then the phrase takes on a whole other meaning (if you’re picking up what I’m putting down). Sav and Emily are both dirty talk maestros in their own right but together?? WHEW. Lincoln can handcuff me to a bed and have his way with me anytime, any day. This man is HOT. And his chemistry with Sloane is off the charts, both of them unable to resist a powerful magnetic attraction to the other. This had the perfect balance of plot and spice in my opinion, and the serial killer storyline really kept me on my toes throughout the book. I absolutely LOVED this, and I can’t wait for all of you to read it.

So Much Potential 2.75/5 I had very high hopes for this book but unfortunately it fell flat. The poor plot execution and the writing style marred what could have been a great book. I had a similar experience with this like I did with Promises and Pomegranates. They both feel incomplete, like there's a few chapters missing. Yet, at the same time, there are filler chapters that don't advance the story. The spice is okay. Nothing special. Again, I expected more from these two authors.

Disappointed. I like both authors individually but together they seem to have produced a lack lustre thriller. I don’t recommend it it’s predictable 2.5 only bc the spicy scenes were good.
