Me before reading: Yay, some cute small town queer romance book
Me 1 second into reading: It’s omegaverse?!

Long story short I saw the new cover on the author’s ig and I basically jump into the story without even reading what it is about. From my rating everyone can see that I pretty much enjoyed it. It’s weird and kinda shocking, because it’s probably my second omegaverse book in my life, and the only one I liked. Let’s just say that this type of books are not my cup of tea, but with this story the writing style and the plot made me stay and finish it. 

The book can be considered as long, five hundred pages long, and by the first sixty percent, I couldn't put my kindle down. It’s a slow burn, but the last forty percent of the book are mainly focused on the couple. 

The story follows Silas who run away from some dangerous and influential people, because after a few years surviving day after day he finally had the opportunity to escape. Henry Beresford, aka Bear ( the nickname doesn’t make sense to me but whatever ) founds him on the road struggling and decides to help him, seeing as Silas barely manages to walk by himself. Bear let him stay in his cabin to recover for a few days, but of course, as they bonded, those few days turned into them falling madly in love and then become each other’s everything. The plot is much more complicated than that, there is a lot of action, but I’m not gonna spoil all the fun. 

I really liked both of the main characters, they were giving sassy, cute, determined and smaller boyfriend x bigger, tougher looking with hot lumberjack vibes boyfriend, who will do anything for his man.

A hot lumberjack who sometimes wears glasses and his hair in a messy man bun? What you could possibly want more? Their relationship was precious and wholesome honestly, it wasn’t like that from the start, but they never were hostile or toxic for each other, so that’s a huge plus. I loved that Silas could finally be himself and Bear was always asking him if he wants to do something. It sounds like bare minimum, but after Silas was basically a slave a few years, making his own decisions was like the most important thing for him. The sexual tension was killing me. It was that good, and them being all possessive of each other was like a cherry on top to it. It too some time for them to be all lovely-dovely, but it was soo worth the wait.

"God, I don’t even feel real anymore, Silas. You are my real."
  


I enjoyed reading it, but even if I really wanted to I couldn’t give it five stars. The main reason is that they was a lot omegaverse stuff and words which kinda sometimes were to much for me. I know, I went into the book with knowledge about that, but as I said I’m not the biggest fan of it. Sometimes it was hot, sometimes it made me cringe inside. 

I almost forgot, but the side characters were amazing too. Not all of them, of course, because some of them ended up as they deserved, but Henry's family accepted Silas as theirs and that made me genuinely happy.

In overall, if you are the omegaverse lover you will definitely like it. Me as a not the biggest fan of it, kinda love it, so I think I can highly recommend it.
