Wow, this was just way better than expected. A love story from a guy's perspective which is honest and not overly cheesy is very rare.Yet this author does a fantastic job.

Finally getting to this almost 8 years after publication hahaha

Should have read it then cause I don't know if some of these concepts are still okay in today's society.

Still a really fun read from a male POV.

Funny. Hilarious. I'm crying and laughing at the same time. I don't care what everybody said about this book or the hero I just love it. It's not like everyday you read rom-com on with the Hero telling you his Point of View. It was a less depressed love story I'm sure you're appreciate.

I can't wait to read the second book.

Highly Recommended :)

Tangled is the first book in the tangled series and I finally got up the courage to grab up this novel. I have had this book on my TBR for the longest time ever, and so I finally grabbed it from KU (and Scribd also carries it if you are a subscriber there too) and I will say that this book was the most unique that I have ever read from Emma Chase. I have really enjoyed this author's writing style and most especially in how she handles dual POV in the majority of her books but I believe that this is the first time that I have ever picked up a book where its in 1st POV---with the hero's perspective and boy I LOVED it. I know this is a much harder perspective for authors to write, but seriously I fell in love and it seemed so realistic. And Emma Chase knows how to handle a good flashback scenario. She writes it in such a way that I didn't mind it at all. So BRAVO Emma Chase.

Tangled begins with our hero, Drew, which starts off with him being sick in his apartment. And he is more heart sick than anything else, because he has fallen hard in love and lost someone special and believes he has lost her forever so he then takes us back down memory lane. So we are taken back four months previous to the beginnings of the first chapter where Drew meets his lovely kickass lady...Katherine Brooks. Their first meeting happens at a club, and Drew is a ladies man, loves sex and isn't ashamed of his one night stands. But there is one woman that draws his attention, but even though she seems amused by his antics, she is engaged and leaves him and Drew is a bit shocked. He doesn't ever get turned down. But his shock comes when the sexy woman that he can't get out of his mind is to work with him on projects for his work. And now he knows that he is trouble because he never ever mixes business with pleasure but Katherine is tempting him. But soon his father and his boss, forces Katherine and Drew to battle each other for certain projects and the war is on. And before either of them realizes it the angst between them turns to passion and fiery love that is never boring. But Drew makes a dreadful mistake and hurts Katherine in the worst way and now Drew knows he must win Katherine back. She is the only woman he could love and doesn't want to lose her. But who will win this battle?

God, she’s beautiful. I mean, look at her. She’s like a volcano going off—fierce and fiery and breathtaking. If she doesn’t find a way to ugly herself down, I’m going to be spending an awful lot of time pissing her off. Which might not be such a bad thing in the end. Angry sex is awesome.

I actually found this book to be quite amusing from beginning to end. I will mention that the pacing could have been slightly better. The first few pages really get you hooked, but the beginning part of the flashback is written a bit slower than how the book begins, so you do need to stick with it. But I did fall in love with seeing Drew's perspective and it was so different than I was expecting going into this book. First off this author's writing style of writing from the male perspective is hilarious and has such a realistic feel to it but I found it so relatable in the small ways. Its quirky and weird and fun. I was fine not having the heroine's perspective because Emma Chase does a wonderful job in how she styles this story.

Edward Cullen can take his stupid heroine and OD on it. Kate is my own personal brand of Viagra.

There is LOTS of angst, especially in the first meetings between Katherine and Drew and boy these two really hate each other at first and loved the jokes they play on each other just for a job hehe I really couldn't get enough of seeing what they would do next to each other. Then we see how that hate game that they are playing turns into passion and boy they could make the house burn down with the fiery hot desire they feel for each other. But we see that even though they do great in bed, they have great chemistry and intimacy that develops between them. And then the downfall and misunderstanding happens and yes men are idiots and we see the evidence of that in Drew. He is a flawed human being and he knows it. But he is also devoted to his family, loyal when he chooses and is a fighter. We see the true strength of his character and what he is willing to do to get his girl. Katherine is a badass heroine, she is smart, passionate, strong willed and goes after her dreams. But she has her own vulnerabilities and is all about relationships and doesn't trust Drew after he hurts her and I like that she sticks with her guns in this book. She knows what she wants and she wants to be treated right and boy she really puts Drew in the ringer for quite a while but I loved seeing all his crazy schemes to get her to open up to him again.

Assume nothing. Even if you think you know everything. Even if you're sure that you're right. Get confirmation. That whole "ass" cliché about assuming? It's right on the money. And if you're not careful, it could end costing you the best thing that's ever happen to you

Overall I found Tangled to be a endearing read of laughs, gumption and true love that is a battle but worth the fight!! FANTASTIC!

Love. Hilarity. Sexy. Prick! I think those are the words that come to mind when I think of Drew Evans in Tangled. This book had been on my shelf to read for months. MONTHS I TELL YOU! Something just kept getting in the way though. If I could go back in time and slap myself I would.

Take Ferris Bueller and make him a rich, spoiled and dashing playboy and you will get Drew Evans. It is rare to get a book from a male’s POV and really get into it. What Emma Chase has done is taken the male POV and flipped it on its head. She has taken that element of the fourth wall and broken it down with a sledge hammer.

Throughout the book you feel as if Drew isn’t just telling his story, it is as if he has sat you down, gotten you a drink and is spilling all his deep twisty feelings to you as if you are his closest friend. It made me feel like I was in it with him.

We start the story with this eternal bachelor who needs some growing up to do. As a woman, you want to hate this cocky son of a bitch. You really do. But something about his naivety about love and him seeing Kate as something more than a piece of ass is kinda sweet.

Of course there is no shortage on rich playboy books out there. But this one feels like it knows what it is and somewhat pokes fun at it. You start to fall in love with these characters without even realizing it until you start rooting for them to really get a clue.

Drew Evans isn’t the guy you bring home to mom. He isn’t even one you want to take you out on a nice date. However, he is like the puppy that keeps peeing on the carpet when you tell him no and you can’t help but cuddle him when he pouts up at you.

Read this for the funny. Read it for the sexy times. And in the words of the eternal Ferris,

“Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”

READ THIS BOOK!

This book was so much fun. Exactly what I needed with exams approaching

I find it really upsetting that this was a 2013 readers choice winner. I have read a lot of books in this genre, my expectations are not that high, but this book is so full of bad stereotypes and rampant misogyny it pains me that so many people gave it 5 star reviews.

I am horrified to think that any women believes this book is representative of how men think, and how men should treat women in any situation. The main male character, Drew, has absolutely no redeeming qualities and there is nothing realistic or genuine about the entire book. Almost every word out of his mouth is sexual harassment and completely inappropriate.

Who hasn't recommended this book to all their friends? It's a must read! It's smart, funny, and oh-so sexy. I laughed out loud numerous times but there was still a lot of depth to the characters, our hero especially, so that I couldn't stop rooting for his happy ending. A witty, modern romance. I can't wait for the next edition of the series.

Oh wow, I can’t believe I actually forgot to review this! I mean, Drew Evans, how could I forget??!! Unbelievable!!

Before starting this review I should say that I never hardly ever read books like this one. I’ve never been into romance (contemporary or not) because I find the stories and characters much too clichéd and predictable. And don’t get me started on the cheesiness! Anyway, so many of my friends read Tangled and told me it was absolutely hilarious and not your typical romance that I finally decided to give it a try…

Oh. My. God. Drew. Freaking. Evans.

This is probably the funniest book I have read in years. I was pretty much laughing out loud from beginning to end here! The story is told from Drew’s point of view, with Drew talking directly to the reader, which really draws you into the story. I read the first paragraph and I was sold.

Drew Evans is a hilariously irresistible obnoxious pig. He is smug, crude, self-satisfied, arrogant, outrageous, raw, foul mouthed, a total prick and a man whore. He is basically an asshole and he knows it. Worse, he pretty much revels in it. Until he meets Kate that is. That’s when all hell breaks loose and he comes down with the “flu.” Some people might be offended by Drew and his ways but I just LOVED him. He really steals the show here. Still, I did like Kate’s character as well. She is competitive, funny, snarky and isn’t fooled by Drew’s act. She can be quite stubborn too, which gets pretty annoying towards the end of the book. Another character worth mentioning is Mackenzie, Drew’s very clever (and very funny) 4-year-old niece. Dee-Dee was was fun too!

In all honesty the story in itself is far from being original but it is Drew’s voice that makes all the difference here. The same story narrated in a more conventional way would have been boring to death and absolutely uninteresting.

The only reason I didn’t give Tangled 5 stars is the cheesy ending. Because yes, this is romance after all. What Drew does to win Kate back was definitely too over-the-top cheesy for me. I won’t even mention the lengths he goes to here, the whole thing was pretty much ridiculous from beginning to end. Still, this was a great, light, fun read and I’m actually considering reading it again just for kicks. That’s how much I loved Drew! :)

There’s a definite dearth of m/f romance novels solely from the hero’s perspective, so when I had to read a book featuring a rich hero or heroine, I chose this one out of curiosity, since it won the Goodreads choice award back in 2013.

“I was kidding. Why do you have to be so fucking serious all the time? You should learn how to take a joke.”
“I can take a joke,” she tells me, sounding insulted.
“Yeah? When?”
“When it’s not being delivered by a childish jackass who thinks he’s God’s gift to women.”
“I am not childish.”
God’s gift on the other hand? My record speaks for itself.”

Drew Evans starts out as, well, a complete jerk, whose life revolves around his work as an investment banker and his family though. His Saturday nights, though, are dedicated to going out drinking with his friends and finding one (or more) willing women. He’s happy with the way things are, until he meets a pretty brunette who turns him down. Turns out, she’s the newest hire at his company, Kate, and he’s assigned to mentor her, which eventually turns into them competing for a lucrative new client. Beginning-of-the-book Drew is a slime ball, the kind of guy who’s not deterred that the latest object of his affections is engaged. It’s somewhat watered down by the fact that it’s coming from his perspective, in a very honest and conversational style that directly addresses the reader. Besides sexually harassing Kate, he’s constantly trying to sabotage her work. Honestly, while it’s funny, it’s also pretty awful, and even with the hint at the beginning that he was going to get his comeuppance, I was tempted to put it down. What saved it, though, was Kate and how absolutely wonderful she was, including how unwilling she was to put up with his crap. Eventually, after the big screwup, Drew does become a reformed man and does the most prolonged and ridiculous grovel I have ever read in a romance novel, from a three-piece marching band to Tiffany jewelry. Watching him turn from a “guy” to a “man” was a pretty enjoyable and hilarious experience, and, frankly, the whole book is pretty funny, especially the banter between Drew and Kate. I also liked the side characters, including Drew’s sister Alexandra and her daughter Mackenzie (and her swear jar).

“You are driving me crazy!”
Her cheeks are flushed, her breathing’s fast, and she’s got murder in her eyes.
Beautiful.
I raise my brows hopefully. “Crazy? Like you want to rip my shirt open again?”
“No. Crazy like the itch of a yeast infection that just won’t go away.”

While I thought Drew’s groveling was perfectly proportional to how much of a jerk he was, parts of it were completely over the top to me and, frankly, it drug on for much too long. Some of it just reinforced his jerk status, honestly, rather than the repentant relationship-minded lover he was going for. Between that and some of his more jerky behavior (the workplace harassment), it lessened my enjoyment of the book.

Overall, though, it was a decent book, with some very memorable and hilarious moments. It is the first in a series, and I think I will probably add the next to my TBR, mostly out of curiosity whether Drew can keep up his reformed playboy status. If you’re looking for a book from the hero’s POV and don’t mind asshole heroes, then you will probably like this book!

2.5 stars on this one.

There were parts of it that I enjoyed, the romance was pretty good and there were some funny lines. But the men just pissed me off so much! They were all such assholes, including the main character. I mean, ya, Drew improved a bit at the end, but I have some serious trouble believing it is permanent. Also they are all complete pigs. "Guys think about sex every 5 seconds..." are you kidding me? How cliche can you get??? That's not even possible, they would never accomplish anything!

I could also really do without the super detailed sex scenes. I just don't think erotica is my thing. There just isn't enough depth in it for me. Recommended for people that really enjoy romance and/or erotica.

This book... this book is AMAZING I couldn't put it down, it was that good. When I satrted it I expected something normal, nothing out of the ordinary, a good book. But I wasn't expecting this! I love it when you aren't expecting something amazing and it blows your mind. Go read this book now really. I loved that it was in Drew's POV it was mesmerizing to be inside a guy's mind and know nothing of what the woman is thinking, it was refreshing. I want my own Drew right now *sigh* new book crush coming right up!

This book. Was. Hilarious. I seriously COULD NOT stop laughing while reading it! And you know what happens when a book makes me laugh out loud constantly? I end up loving everything-the characters, the story, the entire book. Tangled was such a great read. It’s fun, light-hearted, dorky at times, and all told by a male-POV. It’s romance at its finest.

I love Drew Evans. Yep, I just gotta say it. I love Drew Evans. He’s funny, sarcastic, hot, smart, and sexy, so what’s not to love about him? Oh, except… he’s a manwhore. Yup, Drew is a manwhore, and it takes a special woman named Katherine Brooks to change his manwhoring (is that even a word?) ways. At the start of the book, Drew is a mess. Katherine has dumped him, and he doesn’t know what to do with himself anymore. But instead of making it cheesy and sappy, Drew narrates in such a way where he sucks you into the story and you just can’t stop reading-or laughing! And you can’t help but root for Drew and hope he gets his HEA.

It was so entertaining to see Drew slowly falling in love, and freaking out about it. He’s never felt that way before for any woman, and it’s just the funniest thing to see him to falling in love with a woman who takes no crap from him. Their relationship actually starts off as a hate-at-first-sight thing. Enemies to lovers! But when Drew realizes Katherine is IT for him, he goes all out to win the love of his life, and hilarity ensues. Honestly, the things Drew does are insane and would drive anybody crazy. But at the same time, he’s just so sweet and adorable.

I had such a fun time reading this book. It’s a perfect read for romance lovers, although, fair warning, Drew holds nothing back in his narration. He tells it like it is from a man’s POV. And oh my god, it’s freaking hilarious.
