Empty Bottles Full of Stories

After reading this collection of stories, I found myself troubled by the author's recurring portrayal and apparent idealization of women suffering from trauma and pain. Across multiple works, there seems to be an underlying theme that depicts broken, damaged women as exceptionally beautiful precisely because of their brokenness and the pain they have endured. This narrative trope feels problematic and fetishizes the mistreatment and hardship of women in an unsettling way. While the author's talent for crafting evocative narratives is evident, the repeated objectification of female trauma raises concerns about the negative implications and messages being perpetuated through these stories.

There were definitely some sappy, teenage romance poems in these collections but on the whole I enjoyed it! I thought the first collection of poems was superior to the second but still an enjoyable read.
